Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The space The front door opens onto a huge living room with a cathedral ceiling and in which the wood stove is located. On your left, a more intimate corner for dining and a fully equipped semi-open kitchen. There is then a laundry area with washing machine, toilet and hand-washing sink. A few steps lead you to a large bedroom and its bathroom with a sink and shower. Then, a wooden and metal staircase allows you to go down from the living room and discover a second living room that has a sofa bed. A library landing leads to the master bedroom, its dressing room and its bathroom with a sink and shower. From this level, you reach the wooden terraces with garden furniture and outdoor dining area, the private dock on the conch. A private boat moored at the pier will be at your disposal free of charge for the duration of your stay. A private parking space in front of the house is reserved for tenants for the duration of their stay at La Maison du Marais. In the village of La Garette, about 200 m/300 m from our house, there is a large outdoor summer municipal swimming pool called Châtelet, open only in July and August. There is also a large equestrian center open all year round offering horse, pony or carriage rides. A bike rental (classic or electric) is 250 m from the house. Two restaurants are open from Easter to September in the village. Other shops and markets are 3 km away (Coulon and Magné). There are many cycling routes that cross the Poitevin Marsh such as the Vélodyssée or the Francette. Guest access You get access to the entire accommodation and outdoors. Other things to note The accommodation has crazy charm, in the heart of a typical village of the Marais Poitevin while having direct and privileged access to nature and the Conche. VERY IMPORTANT: The house requires the full attention and supervision of adults with small children (stairs, direct access to the Conche, presence of water, etc.) They will be under the responsibility of the occupants. A private parking space in front of the house is reserved for tenants for the duration of their stay at La Maison du Marais. For cyclists: your bikes can be safely stored in the small living room on the terrace side. A deposit check of €800 will be requested upon arrival and not cashed. It will be returned at guest checkout if no damage is found. Two clarifications: - wood is provided for the wood burning stove - the reasonable and reasoned use of electric radiators and/or reversible heat pumps (heating/air conditioning) is included, however it is specified that in terms of electricity consumption 50 euros per week are already included in the rental price. Any energy overrun will be due at the end of the stay and this exclusively in case of surplus. A meter reading is established as soon as guests arrive, a second reading will be established at the end of the stay for a possible adjustment. This is to control energy consumption together, overruns being very rare. We listen to our guests and make improvements to our home every year: in 2023, addition of a shower room and dishwasher in 2024, purchase of a cooler and dishes suitable for picnics and bicycle storage in 2025, acquisition of a parking space reserved for our guests in front of the house and air conditioning of the living room
