Description
Designed by renown architect Tatiana Bilbao, UKIYO, is a soulful, grounded space shaped by the raw beauty of Oaxaca’s coast. Our concept blends the intimacy of a B&B with the elevated service and amenities of a boutique hotel. We invite you to experience something extraordinary: hospitality as sincere as it is seamless, with meticulous attention to detail so your stay feels effortless, luxurious, and deeply relaxing. Our other suites: airbnb.com/h/ukiyo-enso airbnb.com/h/ukiyo-yutori The space Myō is named for the Japanese concept of subtle, exquisite beauty that can’t be explained, only felt. This peaceful, top-floor suite offers sweeping views of the Pacific and a feeling of lightness throughout. Located in the western building, it opens through a private entrance into a serene, design-forward space. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open onto a wide balcony where a pair of plush sculpted lounge chairs invite you to sink in and stay awhile with the kind of comfort you feel in your whole body. Ideal for reading, resting, or simply watching the ocean move. Inside, natural lime plaster walls, high ceilings, and custom hardwood furniture create a sense of quiet elegance. The suite includes a low Japanese-style king bed, hand-carved side tables, and a writing desk. The open-air bathroom is screened for comfort and privacy, allowing fresh air and soft dappled light to flow in while keeping mosquitos out. A monolithic concrete basin, unlacquered brass fixtures, and a rainfall shower make it feel both raw and refined. Amenities include A/C, ceiling fan, Chemex pour-over setup with a coffee bean grinder, organic Oaxacan coffee, Egyptian cotton sheets, Turkish cotton towels, beach towels, a beach umbrella, and daily cleaning. Fast Starlink internet is available throughout the property. Guest access Guests have access to the kitchen, dining and lounge area, pool, and private rooftop terrace. Other things to note Kindly keep in mind that Ukiyo is not suitable for infants and children under the age of 12. As much as we love animals, we strive to maintain a tranquil atmosphere, and as such pets are not permitted on the property. Please be advised that as our structures are built into a hillside, stairs are a prominent feature of our architecture. This may prove difficult to those who experience challenges navigating stairs. While we take pride in the refined nature of our property, we are still surrounded by jungle. We kindly remind you that our natural surroundings may occasionally bring encounters with wildlife from insects and scorpions to lizards or snakes. We ask that you remain on the footpaths and refrain from walking through the wild parts of the property. We encourage you to close your screen doors while you are away - especially in the evening to prevent mosquitos from entering the room. We also advise that you do not keep food in your room as this may attract ants. If you do find an unwanted creature in your room, please contact us and we'll gladly help guide our jungle friends back into the great outdoors. Your understanding and respect for the local fauna are greatly appreciated as we aim to ensure a harmonious coexistence with the beautiful nature that envelops us. From approximately November until June the weather is dry and sunny. We can experience an occasional cloudy day or even rain. The rainy season begins in June/July and runs until October/November. We generally don’t receive rain every day, and the rain falls mostly in the evening and nighttime.
