La Roque - Hilltop domaine, heated pool, 15 acres

La Roque is a private domaine at the top of a quiet hamlet in the Lot: a main house, a guest cottage and an artist's studio in 15 acres, with a heated pool, a wood-fired hot tub and views across the valley. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Furnished as the owner's family home, it is made for long lunches on the terrace, swims, and pool (the table kind) late into the evening. Lauzerte, Montcuq and Montaigu are minutes away; Cahors 30–40 min, Toulouse 1.5 hrs, Bordeaux 2 hrs. The space Three buildings, one domaine. The main house is the heart of it, with the living, dining and kitchen space and two large double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The principal suite has both a bath and a shower. Between them, a curtained alcove with a further double bed suits older children or an extra guest. Across the grounds, the maison d'amis is a self-contained cottage. Its bedroom has two single beds that can be made up as a double, with an en-suite shower room. The sitting area can take extra camp beds and has its own separate shower room. It gives a second couple or grandparents real privacy. The studio has a double bedroom with its own shower room, and light that guests have found themselves painting in. Outside: a heated pool with its own pool house, a firepit on the hill above the house looking out over the valley, a yoga deck tucked into the woods, a terrace with a long table and an outdoor kitchen built into the rock, table tennis, an astro pitch, and 15 acres of open countryside with walks in every direction. Inside: a pool table that has kept more than one group up past bedtime. The owner uses La Roque regularly, so it is kept and equipped as a home rather than a rental. Guest access Rental includes full access to main house, maison d'amis and studio - and grounds (pool, astro pitch etc). There is a main house (principal entertaining facilities) with 2 large double en suite bedrooms and a third bedroom space for a child/teenager/au pair. There is a separate cottage "maison d'amis" with its own facilities (living area, kitchen, bathroom and en suite twin/double bedroom). There is also a studio with its own double bedroom (no facilities). Notes> The maison d'amis can be rented separately by contacting the owner. There is a right of way through the property, which is very rarely used and does not disturb use of the property. Other things to note Recent review from guests (summer 2025): "La Roque was the most wonderful house to unwind in. The rooms are all beautifully put together with extremely comfortable furnishings. There’s space to unwind inside and out. The bedrooms and bathrooms are generously proportioned and swallowed our large family party with ease. Kitchen and dining space worked very well too. There are so many highlights from our stay but it would be remiss to not mention the fabulous swimming pool, the guest house, the artists studio (which inspired some painting), the terrace with its outdoor table and the addictive pool table which had our evenings stretching well beyond our normal bed times. Can’t recommend it enough for a proper relaxing and regenerative stay". There are many stone steps around the property that can't be made childproof, so it isn't suitable for young children. A footpath right of way crosses the land; it is rarely used and doesn't affect your privacy. The maison d'amis can sometimes be booked on its own, so message me to ask. Registration Details CQB491HTN
