Built in 1806 this special heritage home in colourful Bo-Kaap is within walking distance of the best local eateries, cafes, bars and shops on popular Loop St & Bree St. We’ll share tips and recommendations so you can explore Cape Town like a local. We often host solo female travelers, remote workers or those looking for a soft landing space. The space You’ll stay in a terrace style 50 square meter townhouse, with high ceilings and thick stone walls that has been lovingly restored. The big cape Dutch sash windows are north facing so bring in morning sunlight to the flat. The house is a key stopping point in Bo Kaap walking tours to see the cobblestone street. Located on one of the oldest streets in Bo Kaap, the neighbours are very community-minded and friendly and will welcome you to the neighborhood. Centrally located in Cape Town, it’s only 15 mins drive from the beach, and 10 mins drive from Iconic Table Mountain. We’ll share our favourite spots and insider tips so you can enjoy Cape Town like a local. The Airbnb is a completely separate flatlet (no access to the rest of the building) that is on the ground floor only. You enter the space through a private verandah on the street level into a large entrance hallway. Room 1: Kitchen A modern kitchen looks out onto a charming historic street - one of the oldest in Cape Town. The kitchen is well-equipped with bar fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, induction stove hob for cooking, smoothie maker, expresso coffee machine, French press and milk frother. Enjoy your sunny tea and coffee at the kitchen table or outside on the veranda. Room 2: Bedroom Enjoy a deep sleep in a comfy Queen sized bed and black out blinds on the large sash windows. Inside the bedroom there a large desk for those using it as a base for remote working or study, and an extra futon couch for relaxing. Room 3: Bathroom There is a separate bathroom with vanity and shower. The flat is equipped with uncapped fibre (and inverter for connectivity during loadshedding). Guest access Guests have 24 hour access and enter the flatlet with their own private entrance, with a security gate. The Airbnb is a completely separate flatlet that is on the ground floor only. There is no access to the rest of the building. Other things to note Parking: There is plenty of free and safe parking directly outside the townhouse. Security: All doors and windows to the flat are fitted with secure burglar bars and the door with a slam lock gate. The property is protected with 24 hour armed response. Call to prayer: Bo Kaap is a traditional Cape Malay area that home to Cape Town’s vibrant Muslim community. Every day you will hear the Islamic ‘Adhan’ recited from the surrounding mosques, and is an integral and unique part of a stay in Bo Kaap. Throughout the year, the call to prayer times change based on the first light. If you’d like to find out more, our friendly neighbours are very welcoming and would be happy to share more. Flat cleaning (for long term stays): We provide two courtesy cleans for month long stays. If you’d like additional cleaning, we can arrange this for R200 per clean. Laundry facilities: There is no laundry facilities, but there are a number of launderettes within walking distance and/or offer a pick up service. Recycling: We pay for recycling of mixed plastic, glass, cardboard and paper in the clear bag behind the waste bin. Electricity load shedding (when it’s scheduled): The flat is equipped with an inverter so WiFi stays on, rechargeable bedside lamps, and the bedroom and kitchen ceiling light fittings are loadshedding bulbs.
