Enjoy the tranquil decks and spa with canyon and forest views, spa, and fireplaces at our secluded 3-level Chalet in the Stanislaus National Forest. Lots of room for friends and family! Located 7 miles from Murphys and Arnold and near wineries, Big Trees State Park, Bear Valley Ski Resort, Lake Alpine, and the Stanislaus River. Our home has fun things to do, including snow sleds, fishing poles, arcade-quality air hockey, darts, and many games! The space We love our cabin because of its vintage charm, beautiful surroundings, and canyon views. You'll find it cozy and fun, with lots to do nearby! Conveniently located off of HWY 4 between Murphys and Arnold, the home feels remote and private but close to a lot. The house sits on 3 acres with no immediate next-door neighbors and a private dirt road to walk your pet. We are not usually negatively impacted by snow at our elevation. Because it is low enough that there is less snow, and our roads are almost always clear and easy to access for non-4wd vehicles. When we get snow, chains may be required on county roads. Our driveway is level, and we clear snow for guest parking with flat/level access to the home. The county plows and maintains our road. There are three stories to the home overlooking Mill Creek Canyon. The main level features one private bedroom with a queen bed, a kitchen, a dining area, a breakfast bar, a living area with a wood stove, a full bath with a tub/shower, mud room (has full size bad), and a large wrap-around deck with dining, a gas fire pit, electric BBQ, and seating. The Loft (top floor) features a large private suite with a private bathroom and a king-size bed. Downstairs bonus room (bottom floor - 3rd Bed): is a game room and family room with a wet bar, wood pellet stove, and 1/2 bathroom. The 3rd bed is a queen-size cabinet fold-down bed. The extra bed features a memory foam mattress for added comfort, and it can be easily moved around the room if you prefer to sleep near the fire. There is a private deck off the lower floor featuring hammock chair swings (weather permitting) and a stunning view. What's nearby: 4 mins to Avery (restaurant, bar, coffee) 7 mins to Arnold (stores, restaurants, trails, museum) 10 min to Murphy's (stores, bars, restaurants, wineries) - 15 mins to Calaveras Big Trees State Park/Stanislaus River entrance - 40 mins to Spicer Sno-Park and Reservoir - 45 mins to Lake Alpine - 45 mins to Beat Valley Ski Resort There is so much to do close by! - Go wine tasting and shopping in downtown Murphy’s. -visit the Caverns at Mercer Caverns or Moaning Caverns. - Visit Big Trees State Park and enjoy a day of hiking. - Visit White Pines Lake and enjoy the fresh water. - Visit Bear Valley for the day and enjoy the excellent Sierra’s - Hike or Bike the Arnold RIM trail. - Visit the Stanislaus River and enjoy a day of kayaking Guest access Guests have code key access and to the entire home with two private decks and a hot tub area. There is also a detached garage with an apartment located next to the house that is also available for rent if you are looking for extra space. Other things to note There is a detached garage with a 2nd story loft apartment located next to the house that is also available for rent if you are looking for more space. Please ask if you need more space. It can sleep up to 4 people (double/twin/sofa bed). Guests may share parking and front entry walk with loft tenant. I may be on-site to ensure your check-in is smooth and if you need anything, but I will not disturb you. When off-site, I will do my best to help you from a distance and provide extra cleaning and home support services if needed. There is an extra hot tub fee $50 per stay or $100 per week to cover cleaning and utilities. This is billed through Airbnb's Resolution Center as an extra service if you choose to use the hot tub. Please request to use (we don’t include this in our rate because many guests are here for events and do not use it.) We provide wood for one fire and a fire starter. We also provide wood pellets for the pellet stove. Guests are welcome to bring additional firewood.
