🌿 Hurstbury Manor Wing Set within the grounds of an elegant 1901 Victorian manor in the style of Edwin Lutyens, with gardens designed by Gertrude Jekyll, the Hurstbury Manor Wing offers a spacious, self-contained retreat in a picturesque estate setting. Surrounded by mature trees and tranquil courtyard gardens overlooking the historic house, it’s a place to slow down and enjoy peaceful countryside time together The space 🏡 The Space The Wing is arranged over three floors, offering generous proportions, high ceilings, and bright rooms with large windows. It blends period character with comfortable modern living and is well suited to extended families and relaxed group stays. Maximum occupancy: 16 guests Please note that due to the historic layout and stairs, the property may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. ⸻ 🛏 Bedrooms The Wing offers seven bedrooms: • Five double bedrooms • Two king-size bedrooms • Additional sleeping available via sofa bed and folding beds by arrangement Bedrooms are well-proportioned, light-filled, and designed for comfort. ⸻ 🛁 Bathrooms The Wing includes four bath/shower rooms, providing comfortable facilities for larger groups. An additional outdoor toilet is available near the courtyard and event spaces for convenience during gatherings. 🛋 Lounges & Indoor Living Guests enjoy several welcoming indoor gathering spaces: 🌳 The Oak Lounge A beautifully finished guest lounge with oak flooring and a high-quality TV and sound system. This is a wonderful space for relaxed evenings, films, and indoor entertainment. 🏛 Second-Floor Lounge An additional comfortable lounge ideal for later-evening relaxation and quieter gatherings. ⸻ 🍽 Dining & Kitchen Main Kitchen & Breakfast Room A well-equipped kitchen with breakfast space, ideal for casual dining and morning gatherings. Event Dining Room A charming converted Victorian garage building provides a dedicated indoor dining and gathering space for larger group meals. Indoor dining options ensure guests can gather comfortably whatever the weather. Kitchen facilities include: • Cooker and oven • Dishwasher • Microwave, kettle, toaster • Large American-style fridge • Additional kitchenette facilities • Washing machine and tumble dryer available • Iron, ironing board, and hairdryers Towels, linen, toiletries, and basic kitchen essentials are provided. ⸻ 🌿 Courtyard & Gardens The Wing’s outdoor life centres around the courtyard garden, which provides a sheltered and pleasant setting for outdoor dining and relaxation. A large table and barbecue equipment are available for guest use. The courtyard overlooks the estate landscape, with views toward the historic manor house and surrounding greenery. Mature trees, layered planting, and seasonal colour create a peaceful atmosphere, including striking deep red Japanese maples, lime-green acers, and sculptural planting. A traditional greenhouse within the courtyard shelters an old grapevine and offers a charming retreat in changeable weather. Light garden games such as croquet, Mölkky, or Kubb are welcome in a relaxed and considerate manner. The formal gardens surrounding the main manor house form part of the private estate. Wing guests are welcome to enjoy gentle strolls through these gardens to appreciate the setting, while helping us preserve their peaceful and historic character. Guest access 🔑 Guest Access • Private entrance to the Wing • Dedicated guest parking • Exclusive use for one group at a time The Wing is connected to the main manor by internal doors that remain closed and locked during guest stays. Some areas of the estate are reserved for private or operational use. Discreet signage guides guests around the grounds. ⸻ 🏛 Estate Setting & Privacy Hurstbury is a privately managed historic estate accessed via a shared entrance drive. Guests may occasionally see discreet estate management within the wider grounds as part of normal property and garden care. Guest privacy is always respected, and management does not enter the Wing accommodation. Resident peacocks and a historic dovecote add to the character of the estate landscape. ⸻ 🕊 Wildlife & Grounds Guests may see resident peacocks roaming the grounds and enjoy views of the estate’s historic dovecote. Other things to note The main manor gardens are part of the private estate, but guests are welcome to stroll and enjoy them quietly. They are not suitable for games or gatherings.
