During rainy seasons and as we are in the tropics by the beach, if we allow barbecues and cook outs and alfresco dining, flies may be prevalent especially when cooking seafood. Don't throw dirty water on the ground and don't leave food or food wrappers around or you'll have a fly invasion. We wash, disinfect and clean your space thoroughly, but that doesn't mean another fly can't wander in your room. The flies and bugs you might encounter are harmless and eat other bugs. We do everything possible to control flies so please don't leave doors and windows open. Staying at the beach this time of  year is not great for the insect-phobic.  Leave off cooking your meals by ordering food from restaurants or dine at our cafe or better still, just bring pre-cooked food. For Kuroshara Cafe diners, please order meals at least 1 day advance. In Patar, the electricity, internet and water services may be interrupted and these are unexpected. Electricity temporarily goes out for various reasons. Typically, it's due to technicians doing work in the area, a tree fell on power lines or an outage due to storms.  We provide ample solar lights and portable back up power supply that can last for eight hours if used conservatively. During brownouts, guests will just be using an electric fan. During low tide which may last a few hours, the water can be shallow. Please don't harm the sea and its creatures.
