Our little piece of heaven away from the city - we do realize we are very fortunate to live in such a natural setting here on the farm and love having others enjoy our living experience. Located 40 miles NE from Pittsburgh, PA - this recently renovated guest cabin nested away on a beautiful farm is the perfect place to relax in a serene environment. NOTE: *No Locals who reside within 15 miles radius of the zip code 15618 please* All guests must sign a liability waiver prior to check in. The space This is a very private location with no neighbors. It is perfect for anyone that wants to have a quiet remote workplace for a few days or to enjoy God's beautiful nature while having access to the luxuries of home. Take a walk to the pond to enjoy some fishing or take a walk through the woods. There are so many possibilities here: hike, bird watch, picnic, sled ride, build a campfire, roast marshmallows, cross country ski, snow shoe, read a book, play a game, get a tan, take a nap, relax and on clear nights experience dark skies stargazing from the deck! The newly renovated guest cabin is offered with full usage and has a fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom with luxurious king size bed, living room with sofa bed, a bathroom with rain shower and a beautiful wooden deck. This space is completely private, but is attached to our house. We live on the property and will be available if needed [you will probably see our dog and us outside working]. Grounds are many-many acres of walks with stunning views and nature all around [mixture of woods and fields] that you have access to hike, walk and explore. There is also a large pond with a fire pit where you are welcome to explore and enjoy the peace and beauty. The pond is non swimming. You are welcome to bring your fishing gear and fish all on catch and release. This is a working farm with goats, ducks, geese and chickens all around, thus, there are animal sounds, poop and sometimes running farm equipment. We are also fixing our barn and even though it’s not to close to your cabin, you might hear some working equipment. On a rainy day it gets muddy, therefore, we highly recommend to bring your rubber boots with you :) Guest access Guests included in the booking will have full use of the cabin as well as the property throughout their stay. Guests must clarify specifically the number in their party [No unauthorized guests or visitors are permitted]. Reservation must accurately convey the number of visitors including all children. Guests are welcome to roam the acreage fields and forests as well as the pond. There is a fire ring and one free wheelbarrow of wood provided for you [extra available]. Guests are NOT allowed in the main house, barn, chicken/duck coops, 2 trailers and garages. CAUTION: we have an electric fence around our garden, thus, make sure not to touch it. We have WiFi available and most cell providers work well. Other things to note This is a working farm, thus, there will be animals, poop, equipment, etc. The entire home including your guest cabin is on a well and septic system. If you aren't familiar with well-service, there are a few things to know: the system cannot accommodate large-demand use; therefore, multiple showers can deplete the reserve tank. Absolutely no smoking inside. Those who smoke outside should dispose of their butts safely. Our property is not "child-proof." Families who bring children should take special care to supervise them and to clean up thoroughly after them (for that, we thank you!)
