Matakana Cabin is where coastal getaway meets luxury country escape; lovingly nestled within the gentle contour of the land, framed by regenerating native bush, rolling hills and pohutukawa trees. You are immersed in an intimate space that offers both rural seclusion and coastal vibes with incredible sunsets over Sandspit Harbour. Please note we do have a two night minimum stay which will ensure maximum relaxation and enjoyment! The space The focus is on outdoor living but with all the comforts you would expect at any luxury accommodation retreat. We’ve taken all the things we love after years of beach side living so that there are many amazing experiences to be had on a memory filled escape. Bath, Fire, Relax Enjoy a glass of wine in the beautiful stone bath that has a skylight above for starry night displays and an outdoor shower as well. On the lawn is a brazier which also doubles as an outdoor grill for sausages or other treats. If you are in a hurry then just fire up the super easy gas Weber BBQ on the deck. Yes, we love food and cooking and we LOVE fires! Relax outside on the king sized day bed or Coast Bean bags, under super warm overhead heaters. We are world famous for our Sunsets here, countless spectacular ones! Living To keep you toasty warm we have the cutest Roaring Meg mini log burner plus the central heating system throughout which provides air-conditioning for the summer months. The main area has plush sofas and a full size TV with full internet access. There is lots of storage space and a washing machine/dryer. Bedroom The King Sized bed in the spacious bedroom has Sandspit views as well and the top quality bed has been carefully chosen to provide the ultimate nights sleep including divine Wallace Cotton linen and Windemere Mohair rugs. Kitchen A quality full kitchen for preparing meals, including electric stovetop and oven, dishwasher and full size fridge/freezer. There is an indoor dining table with four chairs. All the pots, pans and utensils you’ll need for cooking and eating are provided. Some pantry basics are supplied – olive oil, salt, pepper, spices & herbs, a selection of tea, coffee, milk etc. And we always leave a supply of special Matakana treats for guests to enjoy! Outdoors there are also plenty of cooking options including; a brazier which also doubles as an outdoor grill for sausages or other treats. If you are in a hurry then just fire up the super easy gas Weber BBQ on the deck. Bathroom Indoor bathroom with a full walk-in shower and underfloor heating for the chillier days. Other things to note We have an EV charger for Electric cars on site There is to be absolutely no events or parties, this is a private cabin for 2 people to enjoy. No visitors either. Failure to follow our rules and you will be asked to leave. Sorry no we are not child friendly at this stage. Book the grandparents in and enjoy quality time with your loved one! Sadly due to having horses we are no longer able to accept dogs on our property.
