Mama's Homestay

Enjoy authentic homestay in a Fijian village on a house by the ocean located on a peaceful and breathtaking Wayalailai island! we are located on Wayaseawa Island (Known as Wayalailai), on the southern tip of the yasawa islands group. If you really want to experience the Fijian way of life, come and stay in our village, get involved in our daily activities and become part of our community! The space We welcome you to stay in our house! We have a communal living space with 2 rooms and a living room for Homestay. One room with double bed, one room with 1 single bed and there's a 1 single bed in the living room. each bed has a mosquito nett and we have fans if you need it. just outside the sleeping space there's a big veranda facing the ocean. we have a shared indoor bathroom and shower, We use a refreshing cold spring water from the mountain (hot water available) there's also a TV in the living room and a deck underneath the trees by the sea. We also have a place for you in the house where you can charge your electronic devices. We can recommend buying a local sim card (Vodafone or Digicel) because there's no wifi on the island. Guest access Our guests have access to all of the parts in our house During your stay In the house it's me, lujjie and my mom. We are always there to sit with you and help you with everything that you need. We'd love to tell you about the village life and the Fijian traditions! Other things to note In our village there are no restaurants or shops so we offer you a full board for just 25FJD per person per day it includes: - 3 full traditional Fijian meals (usually includes fresh catched fish, chicken or meat cooked in coconut milk, rice, noodles, casava and other vegetables and seasonal fruits) - Coffee and tea -fresh spring water from the mountain (if you are not comfortable drink spring water you are more than welcome to bring your own water) if you have any dietary restrictions please let us know in advance. Beside the Homestay we offer activities so you could have the best time on our island during your stay! we offer: ● Shark Feeding and snorkeling with sharks- 60FJD ● Boat ride and snorkelling- 60FJD ● Spear fishing or line fishing with the local boys- 25FJD ● Boat trip to the other side of the village (going to the village school and to the sandbar)- 25FJD ● Climbing to the top of the mountain with a local guide- 25FJD ● Traditional Fijian Massage (Fiji BoBo)- 30 minutes - 10FJD 1 hour- 30FJD (all the prices are for one person) we can also offer other activities such as boat ride and hiking to other islands, just ask us! We have our own pickup service from Lautoka Wharf on a local boat or you can take the Ferry (Yasawa flyer) to Wayalailai Echoheaven resort (which is 3 minutes walk from us) and our local boat will pick you up from the ferry and bring you to us! just make sue you tell the Ferry's staff that you are going to Mama Ruci's homestay. Important to note: There are no ATM on the island
