Condo in Catania

If you love traveling, learning, and immersing yourself in new stories, this house was designed for you. It is a base camp, a hidden refuge in which to recover your energy and plan your next expedition. My name is Simone and Campo Base Leonardi is my home in Catania. It opened its doors at the end of 2022 and when I'm not in Catania (I live between Milan and Dubai), I like to host other travelers who, like me, want to "live" the cities that they visit The space I am a traveler, and when I decided to create Campo Base Leonardi I focused on the most important things for me: – Location: I love to have every place within walking distance – Shower: it is the most essential moment of relaxation at the end of a day of exploration – Bed and Silence: no compromises while I sleep The building dates back to before 1600 and has the typical structure of the baroque houses in the center of Catania. In this building, there are eight residential units, and Campo Base Leonardi is located on the fourth floor, with no apartments above. The house is 75 sqm and can accommodate a couple (one king size bed in the master bedroom) and, upon request, a third traveler (secondary bedroom, the single bed is available only upon request, in advance). The house has three balconies and is quiet thanks to triple-glazed insulating windows that protect your sleep from the nightlife of the historic center. The apartment is very bright and ventilated (exposed on three sides). It has a kitchen, a huge bathroom (with two windows and a giant shower that comfortably holds three people), a main bedroom and a secondary bedroom (only upon request). The master bedroom is the main feature of the house, you will find here a restored vaulted ceiling and the original walls in which you can read centuries of different overlapping paintings. The floors of the rooms are very precious original cement tiles. Base Camp Leonardi is designed to guarantee maximum comfort, it is air-conditioned and heated. The house is equipped with ultra-broadband internet, washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven, induction hob, three air conditioners and my collection of books. The house is on two different levels (three steps) and is located on the fourth floor without a lift. It is, therefore, not suitable for people with reduced mobility or who struggle with stairs. *Smart Working, Work From Home, Long Stay* If, like me, you are lucky enough to be able to work with a laptop and your phone wherever you are, Campo Base Leonardi is built to make your stay comfortable. You can work and enjoy a holiday at the same time, without compromises. The house is equipped with a workstation, with desk and FTTH fiber Internet connection (Enel Open Fiber 5Gb) accessible both with ethernet cable (provided, if you have a Mac, you will also find the USB-C adapter) and with wifi . Even the kitchen can be transformed into a workstation, as can the bed or sofa. You have three separate areas available so if you are a couple and someone needs to make a call, there are no problems :) *Some important information* Campo Base Leonardi is not an apartment for tourists full of Ikea furniture. It's my house. This means that you will be my guests and you will find inside books, prints and objects that I have collected on my travels. Like almost all houses in the historic center, the building does not have a lift, and you must climb the stairs with your luggage. However, the climb is a reward: the house is very bright and ventilated (unlike those in the historic center) Unfortunately, animals are not allowed due to allergies, and no overnight guests are allowed except for registered people.
