Description

Relax with your partner, friends or dog at this peaceful place to stay in one of Bend's classic neigborhoods–Tanglewood. Anna owns & resides in this unique 20ft+ vaulted ceiling gem with two living rooms and plenty of quiet space to work & relax. Michael, the co-host, past roommate and good friend–maintains it while Anna travels for work. It's close to downtown Bend (7min), Mt. Bachelor (30min) and Smith Rock State Park (35min) with the Larkspur trail system literally across the street. The space The space is set up to feel like you're home with all the amenities you'd expect for settling into Bend. Large windows everywhere to take advantage of the 200+ days of sunny skies and skylights to help bring the outdoors–in. Here in Bend we love playing hard in the outdoors–especially hiking, rock climbing, skiing, standup paddle boarding, trail running, mountain biking and more. Which is why we don't park in the garage and have it built out for storing all of your outdoor adventure gear. Talk to Anna or Michael about borrowing equipment or asking the hosts to take you out on an Adventure. The kitchen is fully outfitted to cook like you'd expect in a home vs. a hotel. But if there's something missing please don't hesitate to reach out! Coffee and tea is also an important part of the home experience and we have several ways available for you to brew coffee and tea. Check out the far left corner for options. In the dining room you'll find a large wood credenza usually stocked with wine and assorted liquors for making fun cocktails. Anna is a big fan of Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs and Whiskey cocktails like old fashioneds. Help yourself and please let us know if something runs or replace it yourself if you're one of our long-term guests. The two living rooms are set up for large groups but have very different focuses. The main floor is dedicated to hanging out, playing guitar, reading, having drinks or you can move the coffee table and roll up the rug to do yoga! The downstairs living room is focused on the TV with blackout shades above the couch to help get you into the movie watching mood. Inside the ottoman are blankets to get cozy with. The backyard has a swing, hammock and picnic table to help you soak in the fresh air while enjoying a meal or post-adventure beer. Unfortunately the hot tub in the back corner is broken and we will update the listing once it's fixed. Guest access You'll have access to virtually the whole house except for my master bedroom and office next to your room on the top floor. Feel free to explore the backyard and take advantage of the hammock when the sun hits during lunch. The garage is a safe place to store all your outdoor equipment and oversized luggage. You'll see I have a large collection of rock climbing gear, skis, bikes and other outdoor essentials. The ping pong table is always setup and free to play anytime. I have enough paddles for four people and quite a few balls. Please refrain from drinking games on the table or setting your drinks on the table. There is a couch for others to spectate while you play. During your stay Even though it's a large house I do enjoy getting to know my guests especially if they are long term renters but I won't force anything if you prefer to be more private. I travel a lot for work so it's very possible I won't see you during your stay if it's short. I want my place to feel like your place too and welcome any feedback to help make your stay more enjoyable. This is Anna's first time being an Airbnb host and has enlisted the help of her friend Michael to co-host (lives nearby in Bend and is a Superhost). We love feedback and are also looking for ideas to improve the space both with furniture additions and amenities. So please, feel free to help us make it better! Other things to note Even though we do allow pets, Anna is allergic to cats so we cannot host anyone with cats. Thanks for your understanding.
