3-bedroom self-catering flat in Broughton Hall
Description
Built in 1597 Broughton Hall is a Historic House set in a 3000 acre nature and wellbeing Sanctuary. Bell Flat is a self-contained ground floor flat in the west wing and has been newly re-furbished. Decorated with antiques and vintage textiles, many from the main Hall, it is full of character. Enjoy nature walks through the gardens, meadows and moorland, as well as a pub at the end of the drive. Skipton is just 3 miles away and Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales National Park is 12 miles away. The space Accessed via a sweeping stone staircase and grand arched corridor, the apartment exudes drama from the moment you step inside. It retains countless original features, from the chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings to the hand-carved, marble fireplaces that dress the walls. The comfortable, 18th-century sitting room is adorned with historic paintings and offers spectacular views over the Estate’s rolling, wooded parkland. It has a working open fireplace too. Originally a bedroom, the brand-new kitchen/dining room features vivid oak cabinets, granite worktops, and all mod-cons, including an integrated double oven, dishwasher and washing machine. There’s everything you need for a country getaway! Each of the bedrooms has a stunning four-poster bed and all of them are ensuite – two with beautiful freestanding baths and one with a convenient walk-in shower. The setting The Hall rests within the Broughton Sanctuary, a vast swathe of ancient woodlands, pastures, rivers, and moors, that together form England’s largest rewilding project. When you’re not out exploring the various walking routes and cycling trails that crisscross the Sanctuary, you can enjoy activities to help you reconnect with nature, including foraging, tree planting, and forest bathing. We also offer a variety of classes and therapeutic treatments at our wellbeing centre, indoor pool, and spa. Other things to note Broughton Hall is part of a working estate, so there will be activity that reflects this. The Grade 1 Historic House is one of England’s best-preserved country homes and regularly features in TV period dramas, including Gentleman Jack and All Creatures Great and Small. Our recently refurbished, 2-bedroom apartment sits within a private wing of the Hall and offers guests the opportunity to stay in a unique piece of history. Bell Flat boasts excellent connectivity to Skipton and the surrounding Yorkshire Dales via a reliable bus service, making it an ideal base for both leisurely strolls and adventurous explorations of the picturesque countryside. Convenient access to the A59 also allows for easy excursions to the nearby Lake District, with the iconic town of Windermere just a scenic 90-minute drive away. For those seeking culinary delights, a charming gastro pub awaits within walking distance of the property, offering a delightful taste of local flavours and hospitality.
