Description
Enjoy free parking within easy walking of Hebden Bridge when you stay in The Fold, part of a former Mill owner's house. This unusual apartment offers spacious accommodation for up to three people (one in the sofa bed). The bespoke library shelves house a folding double bed, hence the apartment's name! The central sections of the shelves slide apart to reveal the bed, which easily folds away so you can enjoy the spacious lounge during the rest of your stay. The space The Fold is a self-contained part of a rather grand former Mill owner's house - in days gone by the owners used to walk through their garden to their foundry (which was opposite the nearby Stubbing Wharf pub). The Fold's entrance is graced by a Fernery of mainly evergreen ferns surrounded by lovely old Yorkshire stone and set against pewter railings. The kitchen diner is large and very well equipped with range cooker, fridge with icebox and dishwasher. The kitchen leads into a large and beautifully proportioned lounge where built-in bookshelves cleverly house a really comfortable double bed and there is also a sofa bed. The large lounge windows have fantastic views over the valley and surrounding hills with a private patio outside the front door. The newly fitted bathroom has a surprise Yorkshire stone wall (as in it was a surprise to us when we had to strip the plaster off). There is also a washing machine and microwave in the pantry. Guest access The Fold benefits from one parking space at the gable end of the building and private use of the front garden (through which our very nice neighbours might pass from time to time). It might be possible to use a 2nd parking space but only by prior arrangement please. Other things to note Everything is new and beautiful in this unusual property. The refurb took a while but we are now very pleased with the end result. We hope you will decide to come and stay.
