Thoughtfully designed, light filled, one bedroom, one bath, free standing guest house located in Hollywood's historic Whitley Heights. Conveniently located with a 10-15 min walk to the Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood Walk of Fame, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and hiking trails. Universal Studios is a 5-10 min drive. The Spanish-Mediterranean Revival architecture, stone floors, casement windows, gas fireplace, mid-century modern furniture and original artwork make this property a unique experience. The space Highlights include the art-filled interior, gas fireplace, and private patios with a BBQ grill and Italian-designed outdoor furniture. Lush landscaping surrounds the property and adds to the serenity. And in case you forget where you are, just look out the living room window to the left and you’ll see a good portion of the Hollywood sign. Local artistry (such as California-made ceramics) combines with global elements (including Japanese inspirations and Spanish-style architecture) to give this home unparalleled character. LIVING AREA Complete with custom and vintage modern mid-century furnishings, the upscale living area is the perfect spot to unwind. Play your favorite music on the Sonos soundbar and contemplate the Los Angeles-made woodblock prints, local ceramics, and large Nan Goldin photograph. Or simply enjoy a film on the smart TV by the glow of the gas fireplace. KITCHEN & DINING Prepare delicious meals in the kitchen, where modern appliances and a fully restored vintage O'Keefe & Merritt oven seamlessly complement custom cabinetry. Serve dinner at the six-person Shapiro Joyal Studio table, set with timeless dinnerware and glassware by Heath Ceramics. There is also a Keurig coffee maker with an assortment of pods and a french press coffee maker, grinder and beans to get you started in the morning. BED & BATH Our guesthouse sleeps two guests in the bedroom, which has a queen size bed with a latex mattress and fitted with luxury 100% linen sheets. The en-suite bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Guest access Sip a beverage in the private sun-dappled courtyard. Or use the gas grill to host an intimate cookout on the walled patio, where a four-person Salterini Rada patio set and outdoor lounge set awaits. Other things to note Driveway parking is available for one car. Street parking requires a permit and should be avoided at all times. This single-story rental is the guesthouse of a main house, where we currently live. Located directly above the garage, the space is accessed via one flight of exterior stairs. There are minimal interior steps as well. Please note: the surrounding streets and neighborhoods are not particularly pedestrian friendly. Some streets do not have sidewalks and the 100 year old concrete streets have never been replaced and are pretty worn in places. And this is the somewhat hilly portion of Hollywood so folks with mobility issues might not enjoy taking strolls around the neighborhood. Our home is located in a sound-sensitive neighborhood and is not suitable for large/noisy groups.
