Your private guest wing of our home faces due east, with windows onto magnificent sunrise and sunset views toward the Sedona red rocks. This hilltop oasis is watered by a small spring-fed creek, and features a peaceful koi pond. Enjoy the stars from the hot tub! Breakfast bar includes a sink, electric skillet, mini fridge, toaster oven, microwave, toaster, coffee and tea. Grab a meal in town and a bottle of wine from a local tasting room, and dine with your own private world-class patio view. The guest suite is attached to our home (like an in-law unit) but has its own private entrance. We live in the main part of the house. There’s a cozy living area (approx 15’ x 11’) stocked with snacks, games, books, 42" TV with access to your own streaming channels (i.e. we do not provide streaming channels); everything to make your stay comfortable. And did we mention free kayaking!! (see more info in the Other Things to Note section) Breakfast bar (in living area) includes mini fridge with small freezer, a sink for washing up, microwave, toaster oven, electric skillet, toaster, coffee and tea service. This is not a full kitchen but suited for making breakfast (e.g eggs, pancakes), sandwiches or simple meals. A gas grill is also available. Double-sink bathroom with standard tub/shower. Both bedrooms feature custom closets with plenty of storage space, and unique wicker sleigh beds. Portacrib is provided for families with small children. Two patio areas, just outside your door, are yours to enjoy: an outdoor couch with a fire-pit under the shaded porch and a loveseat next to the hummingbird feeder. The real star of the show, though, is our one acre of quiet country living, where you can relax on green grass, under mature shade trees to the sounds of running water and birdsong. Feel free to roam around the property and enjoy the gardens. One full-size hammock and one hammock swing are available to relax in. You're welcome to use our gas grill if you'd like; we'll supply the tools and take care of clean-up for you. Last but not least is our outdoor hot tub where you can relax in the evening as you gaze at the stars. Also included is use of our red rocks hiking trail pass so you won’t have to spend $5/day for your own pass. Guests will have use of the living area with breakfast bar, 2 bedrooms (one with a desk) and a bathroom and access to our yard which includes front patio area with firepit, a smaller patio with a loveseat, four Adirondack chairs in the yard, a double hammock, a hammock swing and a barbecue grill in the back. Our hot tub is also available for your enjoyment! We're here if you need us. Old Town Cottonwood offers quaint shopping, restaurants, and many wine tasting venues. Five minutes away is Clarkdale with Tuzigoot National Monument, Verde Canyon Railroad, and the Arizona Copper Art Museum. You can actually see Tuzigoot from our property. Sedona is only 20 miles away, with over 400 hiking trails and the amazing red rocks. We are just 28 miles from Slide Rock State Park and the beautiful hikes of Oak Creek Canyon. Jerome is a quaint artistic town perched on the side of the mountain just above us. It is full of great wineries and restaurants, just 5 miles away. You don't want to miss the views! We are only 20 miles from Camp Verde and their great antique and cowboy shops (and the best Italian restaurant in the area), Montezuma Well and Montezuma Castle National Monuments, and Out of Africa Wildlife Park. Take a day trip to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Petrified Forest and so much more! We have four kayaks available for your use at no extra charge (costs $90/per person with a tour company). The Verde River is just minutes away. If you want to go kayaking AND it fits my schedule I will transport you to the river and pick you up when finished. If we happen to be gone on vacation when you come then this won't be available. This is beginner kayaking. Very easy and fun! Takes about 2 hours from time you leave house to arriving back. Kayaking is best from March - November. Please understand that this is a guest suite and we live in the main part of the house. You will have your own private entrance and the hallway into our part of the house has a door between the guest suite and our area. We are very quiet so it’s unlikely we will disturb you (or you will disturb us) since the walls are well insulated and hallway door has been soundproofed.
