Description

Some buildings are just places to sleep. This one has a story. Built in the 19th century during Mexico's Porfirian era, Emilio Dondé 7 received an honorable mention at the Bienal de Arquitectura for balancing historic preservation with contemporary living. Original central courtyard, exposed beams, double-height ceilings. On the exact border of Centro Histórico & Colonia Juárez - steps from Bellas Artes, the Zócalo, Roma and Condesa. Soho House 3 blocks away. Rooftop with panoramic city views. The space The loft combines 19th-century character with genuine contemporary comfort - warm, well-designed, and thoughtfully equipped. SLEEPING AND REST King bed in the private bedroom with carefully chosen Mexican décor. For groups of three, the sofa bed in the other room is comfortable and fully functional. The apartment faces the building's interior courtyard - away from street noise - creating a calm atmosphere that makes rest feel effortless. THE SPACES Original double-height ceilings with exposed 19th-century wooden beams. Spacious living area with natural light. Fully equipped kitchen for guests who prefer to cook. 1.5 bathrooms. Dedicated workspace with fast WiFi. THE BUILDING The entrance features a library and art gallery that reflect the building's creative spirit. A French café serving excellent espresso and croissants is right outside the front door - perfect for mornings. The shared rooftop terrace offers panoramic city views and is the ideal place to end the day. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire apartment — both areas of the loft, kitchen, bathrooms and all spaces within. The building's rooftop is available at all times with no time restrictions — perfect for morning coffee, an afternoon read, or watching the sun set over the city skyline. The building has two floors — the apartment is on the first floor, one flight of stairs from the entrance. There is no elevator. Bicycle parking is available in the building. ARRIVAL Access to the apartment is fully autonomous via electronic lock — your personal code is shared before arrival so you can go straight in with no coordination needed. SECURITY The building has 24/7 private security — two guards are always present at the entrance. To ensure smooth access upon arrival, we ask all guests to share a digital copy of their passport or official ID at least 24 hours before check-in. Other things to note THE SURROUNDINGS Across from the building stretches a beautiful park home to the Biblioteca de México — a calm, green space surrounded by culture. On the other side of the park sits the Mercado de la Ciudadela, Mexico City's most celebrated artisan market, filled with unique handcrafted pieces, textiles and local art. Emilio Dondé 7 offers a rare blend of history, art and everyday local life at the heart of the city. PRACTICAL NOTE The apartment faces the building's interior courtyard — no street noise. As a residential building, some communal living sounds are part of the experience. We provide earplugs to ensure a restful night's sleep.
