Description

Authentic Norwegian summer house from 1940 in the idyllic strawberry village Valldal on Sunnmøre. Short distance to some of Norway's most beautiful nature experiences. The house has the cozy name "Hasselbakken" as it is located in a small hassle forest and is often visited by squirrels. Valldal is part of the world heritage area and is located in the middle between Trollstigen and Geiranger, and with a short distance to Ålesund. The area has fantastic hiking and fishing opportunities. The space The house is designed by Norwegian architect Gerhard Iversen in an old funkis style (functionalism). The house is spacious and is well suited for two families. 2 story house with basement 220 sqm, in addition to basement The house has 5 bedrooms of which four of the rooms have a double bed. There is a total of 12 beds. All bedrooms have a unique and romantic style. All bedrooms have their own sink. 3 bathrooms with shower (only the master bedroom has en suite) Large living room and dining room. TV Kitchen with all amenities including oven, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, coffee maker and utensils Wifi Washer High chair and cot All modern amenities. Running water and drains Outdoor area is prepared both for activities and enjoyment. On the terrace one can sit and enjoy the view of the fjord or the strikingly beautiful and majestic mountains. Spectacular views over Sunnmørsalpene, Storfjorden and Valldalbygda. Large outdoor terrace that is partly superimposed with terrace heater. Barbecue and outdoor fireplace. Large cozy garden with fruit trees. Possibility of bocce ball, badminton, football and volleyball. Darts in garage. The summer house is located in a quiet area with no through traffic. There is a road all the way to the house and parking on the plot. The road across Trollstigen is closed in the winter and normally opens at the end of May. Guest access A room in the house is enclosed. Where the host keeps private belongings Other things to note Valldal is in the middle between Trollstigen and Geiranger, with a short way to Ålesund. Valldal is a part of the World Heritage area and the Geiranger-Trollstigen route selected by the National Tourist Road. The area around Valldal is an eldorado for mountain hiking in summer and winter. There is a short distance to some of Norway's most beautiful mountain hiking trips such as Romsdalseggen, Slogen and Saksa. Valldal is also the starting point for pilegrimsleia Valldalsleia. There are also many less demanding trips such as Mefjellet (medium), or Ruggå (family friendly). A small hike on "Bedrings vei" (gravel path in Valldal) is also recommended. This is suitable for all, for the disabled and the disability, young people and the elderly. In Valldal there are also a number of other outdoor activities such as rafting, kayaking, canyoning, rappelling, fishing and SUP on the fjord. Valldal activity park (climbing park) is also close by. Valldal has a good climate and during the summer season you can enjoy fruits, berries and vegetables that can be bought directly from the farm. Valldal has cafes, restaurants, hotel, juice, gas station and a selection of shops including 3 grocery stores and a small cozy bowling. From the location you can explore some of Norway's most famous nature and cultural attractions, such as the UNESCO World Heritage fjord Geiranger, Trollstigen, Tafjord, Rampestreken, Romsdalsgondolen and Gudbrandsjuvet. There is also a short distance to the Art Nouveau village Ålesund, Molde with the Atlantic road, Geiranger and Åndalsnes. Ålesund is really recommendable and has several good restaurants and a full service offer in terms of shop, hospital, etc. Ålesund also has a great aquarium, Atlanterhavsparken. National Geograpic writes “Ålesund could be the backdrop for a Nordic adventure-with a modern twist. Valldal and the area around have been used for filming famous films such as Mission Impossible, James Bond, Black Widow, Børning 3, Ex Machina, Wave and Sucession. At the house there is also a book with our private recommendations for tours, as well as some tour books.
