Description

Relax to the sound of waterfowl and the waves of the St. Lawrence River. This charming ancestral home and its large outdoor pavilion will allow you to live at a different pace. At Le Havre du Canal, you feel completely elsewhere and alone in the world with its intimate grounds by the canal. Enjoy the pavilion with its hot tub and patio set sheltered from the elements. The bohemian-style decor will help you disconnect. The space This house built in 1875 was completely renovated in 2022, highlighting its old-fashioned character with its original paneling. It's small, but it has everything. The full kitchen also includes a laundry area. The living room is equipped with a Roku smart TV (without traditional cable). It only works with available apps (ICI Toutv, TVA+, Noovo, Netflix, Prime, Disney, etc.) accessible via the Internet provided. The bathroom is equipped with a bath-shower. The bedrooms are upstairs with a low wraparound ceiling. The master bedroom has a large country bed and a desk with a 24-inch screen for remote working. The small bedroom has two single beds. A second building with a square slightly larger than the house is closer to the water. The pavilion has three large openings equipped with magnetic screens in summer and transparent vinyl screens in winter. A 4-seater hot tub that suits 2 adults and 2 children is sheltered with a view of the canal. A set of outdoor armchairs with coffee tables and a dining table with 4 patio chairs are also available. A hammock chair hangs from the ceiling. An outdoor Bluetooth sound system is available. A fire pit is set up at the water's edge with Adirondack chairs to admire the many birds and the passage of ships in the distance on the river. A hammock is at your disposal. A large Little Tikes playground is available to entertain your children. Guest access You will have access to the entire property except the basement, attic, maintenance closet and attic of the pavilion. Other things to note This house is located in a quiet residential area, with neighbors nearby. The place is ideal for couples, families and travelers looking for rest, nature and peaceful evenings. It is not suitable for stays where excessive alcohol consumption, noise or evening entertainment could harm the neighborhood. Respect for the calm and atmosphere of the place is essential at all times. The house is on a narrow cul-de-sac street, typical of small villages, with neighboring residences. Proximity is part of the charm of the area and implies special attention to discretion, both outside and during comings and goings. Parking and access are designed for passenger vehicles only. This house shows its venerable age with its crooked walls and floors. This is normal for a 150-year-old house and it will suit those who appreciate ancestral homes with their little defects of old age. For water sports enthusiasts, there is a boat descent at the municipal dock. The land has no descent to the water, but it is possible to put a kayak or paddleboard in the water directly from the land. Some outdoor amenities may be inaccessible during winter time. The spa is a 120V branchable model that cools when the lid is removed and once covered, it slowly heats up from 1 to 2 degrees F by the hour. Early check in or late check out is available when you can offer it. A surcharge of $50 CDN will be payable for either for up to 2 hours.
