The space Le Havre du Canal is a small ancestral house built in 1875 and carefully renovated in 2022, by the canal in Leclercville. With its original panelling, its small village house proportions and its gentle atmosphere, it is an intimate, clean and warm retreat, ideal for two people who want to slow down, cook, enjoy the spa, build a fire and savour the calm of the waterfront. On the ground floor, the living room and dining room form a simple and comfortable space to relax after a walk to the wharf or an evening out. Roku Smart TV allows you to use your own streaming subscriptions. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing real meals during your stay: cook in peace, have a coffee, have a drink, and chat for a long time around the table. It's a house where you can enjoy a relaxed lifestyle, without a busy schedule. Upstairs, the master bedroom features a queen-size bed, a work area and a TV that can also be used as a screen with a computer. The second bedroom has two single beds. The house can accommodate up to 4 people, but it is especially comfortable for a couple or a small, close-knit group. The full bathroom is located on the ground floor. As in many old houses, some floors are sloped, especially in the bathroom. It's part of the character of the place, but it requires a bit of attention. Outside, the covered pavilion is the perfect complement to the living room. Its large openings are fitted with magnetic mosquito nets in summer and transparent vinyl sheets in winter, allowing you to enjoy it for longer depending on the season. There is a spa, a table for eating or having a drink, a hanging hammock chair and the canal is close by. The property also offers a fire pit near the water, perfect for extending quiet evenings, listening to the waterfowl and spotting ships in the distance on the river. The quay, the river and the heart of the village are within walking distance. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house, the pavilion where the spa is located, the grounds, the outdoor fire pit and the driveway. The basement, the attic, the upstairs utility room and the first floor of the house are not accessible to guests. Other things to note Le Havre du Canal is a small, traditional village house. It is clean, comfortable and full of charm, but it retains the characteristics of an old house: floors that may creak, compact rooms, steeper stairs and a warm atmosphere rather than new, standardised decor. This old house is not suitable for people with reduced mobility, balance issues or difficulty using stairs. You have to climb four steps outside to get to the house. The two bedrooms are upstairs, while the only bathroom is on the ground floor, which requires regular use of a narrow and steep internal staircase, especially at night. The bathroom includes a standard shower bath and does not have a special layout for people with disabilities. The accommodation is better suited to independent travellers who are stable on their feet and fully comfortable using the stairs. The house is designed for personal or tourist stays focused on rest, with a respectful attitude towards the property. It is not suitable for construction stays, work teams, or use as an operational base. We prioritise guests who want to enjoy the tranquillity, the spa, the pavilion and the area in a peaceful setting. The house is located in a quiet residential area, with neighbors nearby. It is especially suitable for couples and small, quiet groups who want to enjoy the canal, the spa, the outdoor fire and some peaceful time. It's not meant for parties, loud gatherings, or even-busting stays. The house can accommodate up to 4 people, but it is particularly comfortable for 2. The base rate is for 2 guests. Any additional person present on the premises, even for only one night, must be declared in the reservation. A fee per additional person applies beyond 2 travellers. The spa is located in the covered pavilion, protected from the elements. This is a small 120V spa, ideal for quiet sessions, especially for two. It heats up more slowly than a standard spa and must be properly covered after each use to maintain its temperature, especially in winter. The TV works with Roku and streaming apps. There is no traditional cable. You can use your own subscriptions like Netflix, Prime, Disney+, HERE TOUTV, VAT+, or Noovo. Access to sports channels or live TV may require your own subscriptions. Outdoor amenities are seasonal. The pavilion, outdoor furniture, BBQ and fire pit are set up or accessible depending on the time of year, the weather and winter conditions. During winter, the fireplace is not cleared of snow. On-site parking is limited to 2 passenger vehicles for the entire group. The site is not suitable for large, commercial, or professional vehicles.
