We invite you to experience the exceptional mid-century modern style and mountain tranquility of Little Falling Water. Set beside a waterfall and built literally over a stream, this architecturally significant residence completed in 1961 was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic home of the same name. Walls of glass frame treetop views and the soothing sounds of cascading water surround you on all sides. Decorated with taste, curated for your comfort, close to fine wineries, come enjoy! The space Little Falling Water is a 1,200 square foot, 2-bedroom, 1-bath, mid-century modern, private cabin set on a quarter acre in Cobb, CA. Inside and out, you will find everything you need to create your memorable mountain holiday. We have curated an art and design experience that not only highlights the stunning architecture and natural setting of the home itself, but also ensures your comfort. From the furnishings and fine art to the table and glassware, no detail has been overlooked. There is also hi-speed WIFI, excellent heat and hot water, 100 percent cotton bedding and towels plus plenty of extra blankets and fans in every room. No matter what season you choose to visit, your pleasure is our highest priority. Enter the grounds through a mid-century modern interpretation of a traditional Japanese torii gate. Cross the stream over the Japanese inspired soribashi bridge to reach the front door flanked by garden chairs and a bench overlooking the waterfall where you can savor a glass of local wine or sip your morning coffee. Enjoy the specatacle and soothing sounds of a cascading waterfall right outside your front door! Hidden in a dell of giant ferns, surrounded by huge pine and fir trees, built over a stream, Little Falling Water's walls of glass frame enchanting views. Inside, 12-foot, open-beam ceilings soar over the living room eclectically furnished with Mies Van Der Rohe style sofa and vintage 1980s "New Wave" coffee table, leopard club chair and ottoman. A magnificent, two-sided, metal fireplace surrounded by stacked stone keeps you warm in winter while an impressive ceiling fan keeps you cool in summer. Connect almost any electronic device to our projector and use our high-speed WIFI to stream your favorite movies and tv shows onto the eight-foot screen that descends from the ceiling. Make your vacation soundtrack totally memorable with the record player and a collection of almost 100 classic 45s. Or just relax with a good book or a good nap on the daybed. Dine with a tree top view through floor to ceiling windows. The black lacquer dining table seats four comfortably and the mid-century bar includes ice bucket and cocktail set. Chef's kitchen comes complete with Sub-Zero, undercounter fridge and freezer as well as microwave, hot water pot, toaster, juicer, coffee maker and waffle iron. Modern Magic Chef oven beside vintage electric range and hood make preparing your own meals easy and fun. Cutlery, knives, prep tools, salt, pepper, sugar, spices, plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, breakfast, lunch or dinner, the kitchen is ready. Spread out with plenty of counter space and pots and pans galore for whatever you're cooking. Huge windows look out over the bridge and waterfall from behind the kitchen breakfast bar that seats four. Primary bedroom features a queen bed, double closet with built in dresser, a mirrored vanity, heirloom bird plate collection and a wall of picture windows. Secondary bedroom offers a queen bed, large closet, dresser and antique Japanese prints as decor. Secondary bedroom also provides a dedicated work space with desk and access to a covered porch. Modern convenience meets retro charm in the bathroom where you'll find a dual massage shower head over full bath tub with unique styrene light wall and pink flamingo shower curtain. A 40-foot, treetop-level redwood deck spans the back of the house with dining area, seating area and lounging area. Kick back on the chaises, bird-watch with the binoculars or fire up the gas BBQ for an al fresco meal. Follow the winding garden path around to the back of the house through a forest of giant ferns flanked by stone walls that date back to a nineteenth century saw mill that once sat on the land. The covered porch provides a sweet spot to gaze out on a fairy circle of old growth pines. Continue behind the house and you'll discover a small creekside beach just beyond where the water flows under the house between giant boulders. Colored lights illuminate the stream as it descends from the waterfall beneath the house and past the beach. The property is on an easily accessed, paved road, with off-street parking for two cars. We can also accommodate your boat or RV at an off-site location a block away. Please note that the home is not isolated. While quite private, there are neighbors on both sides. A grocery store, espresso bar, pizza parlor and gas station are all only a one-minute drive or five-minute walk away. Hablamos Espanol. Nous parlons Francais.
