Guests enjoy private walking access to both the creek and the beach, offering a rare opportunity to experience the beauty, sounds, and peaceful rhythm of the Northern California coast. From the moment you arrive, the intention is to leave behind the pace of everyday life and settle into the natural rhythm of the ocean, the creek, and the surrounding Sitka spruce forest. This is a place designed for slowing down — enjoying morning coffee while watching the waves, reading in a quiet corner, walking the beach, exploring Gilbert Creek, gathering with friends, or simply taking time for reflection and renewal. The suite is especially well suited for couples, friends traveling together, or individuals seeking a peaceful place to rest, reconnect, write, reflect, or enjoy the natural surroundings. The unique three-room layout allows guests to share the experience while still having separate spaces for privacy and quiet moments. This retreat is best suited for guests who appreciate nature, simplicity, and a slower pace — those who find beauty in the details and would rather listen to the ocean than the noise of everyday life. The Three-Room Suite The suite is thoughtfully arranged as three connected rooms accessed through a private entryway. Each room has its own purpose and character, creating a comfortable flow while allowing guests to spread out and enjoy the space. The Ocean-View Bedroom The bedroom features a comfortable queen bed with expansive views of towering Sitka spruce trees and the open Pacific horizon. Two viewing chairs with a small table create a cozy place to enjoy morning coffee, read a book, watch the changing light over the ocean, or simply take in the beauty outside. This peaceful sleeping space also includes part of the kitchenette setup for light food and beverage preparation and has its own door for privacy. The Living Area The second room offers a comfortable gathering space with a couch that converts to a full-size bed, providing flexible sleeping space for additional guests. A separate viewing chair creates another inviting place to relax, read, enjoy conversation, or take in the ocean views. This room also includes an additional kitchenette cabinet and food preparation area, making it convenient for storing food, preparing beverages, and enjoying simple meals. The Bathroom & Vintage Farmhouse Sink The third room is a full bathroom featuring a tub/shower combination, toilet, vanity sink, and a beautifully restored oversized 1930s farmhouse utility sink with its original drainboard. This charming vintage sink is one of the distinctive features of the suite. It is also part of the kitchenette setup, providing additional space for washing dishes and preparing simple meals. A Note About the Kitchenette One of the most common questions we receive is about the kitchen setup, so we want to clearly explain what to expect. This property does not have a traditional full kitchen. Instead, we have thoughtfully created several kitchenette areas throughout the suite to provide comfortable options for preparing simple meals, snacks, coffee, and warming food. Outdoor Space Antique French doors open onto a private oceanfront deck with outdoor seating, a picnic table, and a Solo Stove where guests can relax, share a meal, enjoy an evening fire, or simply listen to the waves. The beach and creek offer opportunities for quiet walks, shell collecting, wildlife watching, photography, and moments of reflection beside the Pacific. RV hookups are also available. The Story Behind This Place Every special place has a story, and this property carries one that is deeply meaningful. For many years, I dreamed of finding a place where I could look out over the ocean, drink coffee in the morning, and simply be present with the beauty of creation. At the time, I was living in the Mojave Desert among the Joshua trees, in a home I loved, where I had my private practice. The desert gave me solitude and beauty, but I longed for a place near the sea — a place of restoration, reflection, and peace. I searched for nearly ten years before finding this property in 2001. When I first arrived, I met Frank and Marianne, the previous owners and caretakers of this special piece of coastline. They welcomed me not only to the property but into a friendship that became deeply meaningful. The story of this place began even before Frank and Marianne. The property had been gifted to them by Mr. Hammer, a local well witcher. In his later years, Frank and Marianne cared for him, and in gratitude for their kindness and devotion, he gifted them this land when he passed away. As Frank and Marianne came toward the end of their own lives, they wanted this place to continue to be loved and shared with others. Over time, we became dear friends, and much of what you see around the property today was influenced by their care, creativity, and love for this land. Their connection to this beach was profound. After their passing, their ashes were scattered here, becoming forever part of the landscape they cherished. One scripture that has stayed with me throughout this journey is Isaiah 54:12: “And I will make thy windows of agates…” The imagery of beauty created from precious stones has always felt meaningful to me — a reminder that places, like people, can be shaped by love, time, and intention. When I created this suite, I thought about the places that had given me peace when I was younger — simple, clean, quiet places where I could read, write, study, walk the beach, collect shells, and contemplate life. I wanted to create that same feeling for others. My hope is that guests feel the history, care, and love woven into this property over the years. Whether you come to rest, reconnect with someone you love, spend quiet time alone, write, reflect, or simply listen to the ocean, I hope this place feels like a second home — a familiar shoreline you will want to return to again and again.
