Dreamy Treetop 2 Bedroom
Dreamy Treetop 2 Bedroom
Description
This sparkling modern classic is the top apartment of only 3 other owner-occupied condos. Wake to tranquility, trees and sky, have your morning coffee on the back deck, or soak in the morning sun flooding the living room windows. Located in Stuyvesant Heights Historic District, the building was designed to blend in with the gems around it, but - surprise! - it’s actually brand new: high quality build, minimalist finishes, smart layout, high-end appliances. Literally the best of both worlds The space Every room has a **silent** Mitsubishi split system unit for heating/cooling, so you can climate-control your stay down to the room — and mood — you’re in. (Although with the building’s top notch insulation, we haven’t found ourselves using it much.) If you were hoping for some of the old school “the clanging radiators can’t be adjusted, open the window” charm of classic brownstone living, you won’t find it here. But we don’t think you’ll miss it. The full kitchen (giant fridge, oven, dishwasher etc) includes all Blomberg appliances and a touch-screen Breville espresso machine, set against sleek white ceramic counter tops and matte-black cabinetry. The raised living room (elegant separation of space!) has built-in Sonos speakers and includes a chef’s bar overlooking the kitchen—small details that add up to an ambient coziness we think you’ll appreciate as much as we do. A short throw projector lets you spend your evening streaming your favorite shows, films or live sporting events, and the record player comes with an eclectic selection of vinyl. (Although, if you’re music lovers, we recommend spending every single night around the corner at Bar LunÀtico, a small live venue that is a destination for top jazz and world musicians — both as performers and audience members!it’s a true musician’s heaven…) Guests have also raved about our wall of books — if you’re a bookworm, you’ll be right at home! But don’t forget the Macon Library around the corner; a great place to work or soak in the local history. The two bedrooms include a main bedroom with a queen size bed and a secondary bedroom which we use as an office / home studio. The bedrooms are small-ish (8’ by 12’) but thoughtfully designed, with an organized closet all to yourself and a wall of window-doors that open out to the private terrace, so the rooms actually feel ample and luxurious to spend time in. The bathroom features crisp black fixtures against white ceramic, with a full bath and an overhead heater for those who want that extra steamy spa feel. (And who doesn’t.) The apartment has a washer-dryer for your convenience. Besides the private deck, the building has a common roof deck directly upstairs (accessible through the common stair case), where we installed an outdoor weight-lifting system (rack, bench, foam tiles, free weights and kettle bells) — you’re welcome to use it. The view up there, all rooftops and spires and treetops and sunsets — and, at night, a distant Empire State Building lit in theme colors — is really something to behold: a true New Yorker moment, whether you’ve got kettle bells in hand or a glass of wine. Guest access The whole apartment, private deck and common roof deck. Other things to note -There’s no TV in our apartment (tho we have super fast Wi-Fi for streaming on your device).
