The Dollar House is our unit as well and you can see it from this house, rent both! This is the second of two abandoned properties in Albert Lea that we've rescued from the brink of not being salvageable. Built in 1936 and receiving a couple of additions and a detached garage over the years. At some point the place began to sit vacant and fell into disrepair, a wanna be contractor/ house flipper bought it many years ago and starting trying to work on it, after realizing they were in over their heads it did more sitting around, with missing exterior doors and broken windows and kids hanging out in it, etc. After sitting vacant for what we know to be at least ten years, we purchased it in January 2021 and got to work gutting the whole thing down to bare framing. Now it's all fresh, we completely replaced the plumbing system in the house and sewer, we revived the furnace and air conditioning as amazingly they were in great shape, we replaced the electrical system, installed new doors, windows, and siding, spray foam insulation ensures a comfortable stay, new drywall, new cabinets and countertops with new appliances and main floor laundry. It's in a safe place as it's in a well traveled part of the neighborhood, it's very well lit at night with soffit lighting and exterior cameras on all four elevations. It looks like a UFO at night lol The place is old school but in a good way, it's got the rock tire tracks for a driveway, a cool old timey (but fresh) porch, the detached garage is for your use if you want! There's an EV/ RV plug-in on the side of the house next to the driveway. The place has a story to tell, it's worth a stay, we're always working on the place in-between bookings because it's not perfect but is great! You're welcome to use the whole place, including the detached garage. There's keypads on the front and back doors of the house and a keypad for the garage. Message us for the keypad code to the garage if you want access. I generally host from afar, however, I’ll follow your lead. The place can accommodate up to six people. It's a two bedroom house, a queen bed in the master, a full bed in the second bedroom. The third bed option is a second mattress on the guest bedroom bed, take it off and set it up on the floor in the family room. If you give us notice, we can have this done for your check in if you need the third bed, otherwise there's plenty of bedding and pillows if you decide you need it after you arrive, you're welcome to set it up yourself.
