Rainbow Ridge Studio

Welcome to Rainbow Ridge Studio! Our private walkout basement studio, patio, and fenced-in yard await you. Our home is on 7 acres near the top of a small ridge, which we lovingly call Rainbow Ridge. We are on gravel only one mile from paved roads and four miles from downtown Emporia, making it the perfect quiet yet close-to-it-all place. An excellent place for gravel cycling enthusiasts, or anyone simply wanting to stay in a more peaceful country location. The space To be super clear - we live upstairs! We also have a toddler and three dogs. We get up around 6:30-7am, so you may hear us in the morning (toddlers and dogs are unpredictable) and throughout the day, but we're fairly quiet from ~730pm-630am. We'll always provide some ear plugs for you should we be a bit loud for you in the morning. We ask for guests to be courteous and keep similar quiet hours (no crazy activities late at night, or super loud music). If you sleep late or do not like dogs, this may not be the best place for you :) We have one dog that does not like strangers much, but we are always outside with them and will put them inside immediately should you need to access the front yard. The two other dogs love people and will happily accept pets. The studio: The studio has a kitchenette with a large table, living area with a couch and tv, a pull-out couch (sleeps 2), a queen bed (closest windows have black out curtains), and a spacious bathroom. All windows face the west, which lets in lovely sunsets in the winter but limits heat in the summer. Each area is well lit but has dimmable lights (except the bathroom). The kitchenette has materials for easy cooking, but isn’t necessarily set up for full-blown cooking every night. We have an electric single burner stove, air fryer, microwave, and mini fridge, along with a water kettle, French press, and dishes/utensils. If you have kids we would be happy to lend you some books and toys! Outdoor space: Your vehicle(s) will stay parked in our driveway, though we ask that guests spend their time outdoors in the backyard (where the studio entrance is). We use the fenced-in front yard for our leisure - largely gardening and running our dogs. To access the studio you go through the driveway gate next to the garage and down a set of landscape stairs or a hill to get to the backyard. The backyard (and studio entrance) includes a cement patio with a grill and 2-chair patio set. We have camping chairs if you need extras - just ask. Should you need anything specific or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out! Guest access You will be able to enter through the driveway/front yard, and have a private entrance to the backyard and studio. Other things to note Our three dogs spend some time in the front yard, so please ALWAYS close the gates. They are indoor dogs, so they will not be outside all the time, but they will escape if they get the chance! We also sometimes have wandering cows that we would prefer to keep out of our yard.
