Rewarewa Retreat - water views and sunsets
Description
Rewarewa Retreat is a modern studio, and the upstairs bedroom of our family home, with its own private entrance, ensuite, kitchenette and deck. Located on the Rangitahi Peninsula with uninterrupted views of one of Raglan’s beautiful estuaries, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and relax. A 2 min walk to The Hut cafe, a 5 min drive or 20 min walk to the funky harbourside township, and a 10 min drive to the ocean beaches and the famous surfing left hand break. Check our Insta: rewarewa_retreat The space Enter the studio along the boardwalk between our house and the separate studio to the right to your own private entrance. The internal door to our home is dead-bolted for your privacy and ours. You will hear some muffled homely noise through the double-lined, noise-line insulated internal wall as this is also our family home, but rest assured we respect your stay and your privacy. While here, feel the fresh sea breeze, enjoy the stunning sunsets, explore the region’s wonderful adventure playground, all the while soaking in the relaxing atmosphere of our ‘carefree’ Rewarewa Retreat. Our beautiful Rewarewa trees frame the amazing views of Karioi, the estuary and sunsets - ‘Rewarewa’ is Māori for carefree and floating. And if you want to do more than sit back and soak in the scenery, there are two kayaks ready to take you on your own exploration of the estuary. The Studio is modern yet has a soft feel with its white washed plywood feature wall, and kitchenette. Relax in the chair inside looking out over the view, or head outside where there's a small dining table with chairs, and another chair to lounge in. The entrance, and outdoor furniture, all sits under the shade of a shower proof sail. The kitchenette is equipped for making hot drinks and some simple food prep. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar are provided. A large flatscreen TV is on the wall, but you may just not use it as the views are so beautiful. The comfortable queen size bed will help you recover overnight from the day’s adventures, and you can choose to close the blinds, or allow the next morning’s light wake you up for the amazing sunrise colours of the estuary, along with the song of the local tui. Stepping into the bathroom is a delight with a Balinese stone basin perched on a bench-top made from a large kauri beam from Karangahake Gorge. And feel free to walk through the beautifully tiled shower out onto the deck - but don't worry, you can make it as private as you want. Below the deck you will see our own private courtyard and tropical garden, and flower bed. We will respect your privacy during your stay. Guest access Just park your vehicle in the generous streetside parking out front. You’ll see a board walk between our house and a separate studio (also available for rent) directly across the driveway that leads to your private balcony. Through the double sliding glass doors you’ll walk into the spacious bedroom serviced by a trendy kitchenette and beautiful bathroom.
