Mid-century modern 1950s house. Breezy backyard deck. Quiet, dead-end street. Near Willamette River, walking / biking trails, downtown Milwaukie. Quick access by car or light rail to the best of Portland. TAX? 31 nights or longer: No lodging tax. 30 nights or shorter: Clackamas County tax of 6% will be added when booking. The space * Good daylight, south-facing house * 1,100 square feet (see floor plan photo) * Main level of a house. Basement level is a separate living space with private entry on side of house. You would only see that occupant in shared laundry room or possibly outdoors coming and going. * Hardwood floors, cozy rugs, vintage modern furnishings Guest access PARKING is free in the driveway, off-street. Room for two cars side by side, plus a third behind them or on-street. BACK YARD elevated deck is private, but the rest of the yard is shared with basement resident(s). LAUNDRY ROOM available 7am-10pm, shared with basement resident(s). Other things to note SOUND travels between your upstairs space and the basement resident(s). Please be mindful of this during quiet hours of 11pm-7am. COOKING ODORS can also travel between your upstairs and the basement unit, especially in heating season with shared furnace running. INTERNET SPEED “Ultrafast” cable WiFi at up to 1,000 Mbps (1 Gbps) download speed. Easy streaming, video meetings, etc. WINTER HEAT The smart thermostat is locked to go no higher than 70 degrees. If you’re still cold, please consider putting on a layer of clothing. Electric space heaters might also be available but are energy-intensive and should not be left on unattended for fire safety. SUMMER COOLING | NO AIR CONDITIONING Portland summers used to be perfect and mild. Now they can get hotter sometimes. The house is south-facing without any shade trees. When it gets over 85 or 90 degrees, the house heats up. It can get uncomfortable during hot days over 90, but cools off at night with the help of window fans for each room. ALL ARE WELCOME.
