The house is clean, cozy, and cheerful in spirit, called “Blue” only for its color. Just over a mile from downtown, The Blue House is an easy drive or longer stroll to the shops, sites, and restaurants of downtown Sitka and only half a mile from the Sitka National Historical Park, more commonly known as Totem Park, which boasts alluring forests trails, beach access, and of course, totem poles. The central location of the home means it serves as a great spot to launch from for exploring Sitka. The space The welcoming front porch is a pleasant place to sit on a summer afternoon or easy access to wood storage in the winter. Entering through the front door, there is a small entryway space that connects via a short hallway to either the kitchen or main living space. The kitchen has everything you need to grab a quick breakfast or cook a feast. The living and dining areas are in a shared open space. With two bedrooms on the second floor, two couples or parents traveling with children can rest comfortably sharing a full bathroom. Each bedroom has one queen sized bed. In addition to a central downstairs heater, there are in-wall electric heaters in each bedroom. The shared full bathroom also has an in wall electric heater. Being a guest is uncomplicated with a fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, smart TV, and assorted games, books, and puzzles. Basic amenities are provided including shampoo/conditioner, laundry detergent, cooking spices, cooking oils, and coffee/tea. Guest access The home will be shared with the owners. The house has three bedrooms, two of which are available to guests. Only one reservation will be accepted at a time whether or not both bedrooms are utilized. Guests will have access to all spaces in the house except the master bedroom. Other things to note Please know that we do have an old dog named Alta who enjoys long naps and begging for snacks.
