Description
This simple hut nestled into the rainforest is a birdwatcher's paradise! The property is entirely off-grid and is situated in a wildlife hotspot, with 100 acres of wet tropics rainforest connected to the World Heritage listed Maalan National Park. An ideal base for nature lovers to explore the Atherton Tableland, the bird list includes over 200 species, including Victoria's Riflebird, Blue-faced Parrot finch. Mammals include Tree kangaroos and Herbert River and Green Ringtail Possums. The space The hut is a simple, open-plan space designed to connect with the environment. It has large windows on three sides, including louvres to let the cool breeze flow through. A sheltered deck looks out towards Wooroonooran National Park to the south and Mt Bartle Frere to the east, and is often visited by a Lewin's Honeyeater. An open-air bathroom with hot water and a flushing toilet provides comfort in a unique rainforest setting. Guest access The hut is located on our property off Whiting Road. You will have full access to the hut at the top of the property. The main house is lower down the hill a few hundred metres away and is not part of this listing.
