Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. An amazing hilltop cabin with stunning views of Kachemak Bay and the surrounding area. Beach access is available with close proximity by kayak to Kachemak Bay State Park where there are miles of hiking trails. The Halibut Cove community is a short kayak trip away. This location is very quiet and relaxing. Enjoy sitting on the deck with coffee or wine, watch the birds and wildlife or visit the meditation area along the boardwalk close the stream. The space This cabin sits on 5 acres with waterfront views and beach access. The upper floor is the living, dining and kitchen space. The lower level is the bedroom furnished with a full bed, small dresser, sitting chair and a small book and CD library. Access to the bedroom level is either a door off the outer walkway or a hatch with stairs leading down from the living area. Guest access Guests have full access to the property, beach and amenities. Four kayaks are available. Enjoy a fire on the beach with our recently added fire ring with a seating area and firewood provided. Other things to note This cabin is a semi dry location accessible only by boat. Water taxi service is readily available from multiple companies on the Homer spit for a round trip separate from the cabin rental. We recommend either Coldwater AK or Mako's Taxi. Once you book with us be sure to contact a taxi company that meets your travel itinerary and needs. Bring your own provisions as there are no stores or shopping close by. Food and any supplies are readily available in Homer. It is recommended that you have rubber or waterproof footwear and protection from the rain. If you plan outdoor activities such as hiking in the park, it is recommended that you bring bear spray and a loud should device such as a whistle. Access to the cabin is via a long staircase which may not be suitable for all potential guests. We provide a propane refrigerator and cook stove with an oven for use. Hot and cold running water is available for the shower and cabin sink. One separate outbuilding has the shower and sink, another houses a state of the art composting toilet.
