Kartik & Anu welcome you to Saroga Woods, our sustainable Himalayan home at 8,000 ft with views of the Himalayas, the Sutlej, and fruit orchards. We love cooking and offer Pahadi, North Indian, Italian, and Asian meals—each a memorable experience. Our home is a peaceful retreat from life’s hustle, where you can slow down, savor nature, and enjoy the mountains. Once jam-makers in Singapore, we’ve made the mountains our home and opened our doors to share its calm and beauty. The space Our home runs on solar power, harvests rainwater, and has a garden with seasonal vegetables. Guests enjoy two cozy bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (one with a balcony), heating, high speed fiber internet, a small gym, and access to all common spaces—terrace, lounge, garden, and kitchen. Activities nearby: Wander historic apple orchards, trek to Hatu Peak, picnic in Jau Baug meadows, walk Saroga’s lush jungle trails, visit the 19th-century St. Mary’s Church, unwind at Tani Jubbar Lake, experience vibrant local fairs, or take a day trip to the scenic Bhimakali Temple at Sarahan. Getting Here: Saroga Woods is a 2.5–3 hour drive from Shimla. We can arrange a trusted driver to pick you up from Chandigarh or Shimla, or you may choose to self-drive in a rental car. By road, we are 450 km from Delhi, 200 km from Chandigarh, 200 km from Manali via Jalori Pass, 88 km from Jibhi, and 85 km from Shimla. The nearest airports are Shimla and Chandigarh. You can also take the scenic Kalka–Shimla narrow-gauge train, a unique journey with dramatic hill views. Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll share recommended pit stops and routes from your location to Saroga Woods. Guest access Our home has three floors—guests have full access to the first two. The middle floor houses the guest bedrooms (with en-suite bathrooms), library, gym, and lounge. The upper floor has the shared living and dining areas. Guests can also enjoy the terrace and garden. We, the hosts, stay on a separate floor to ensure your privacy. During your stay My wife & I, your co-host Anu, live in the same house on the ground floor. Guests have their own floor (the 2nd floor) and their privacy, and since we make and serve the meals, we are happy to socialize as much or as little as you like! Other things to note Kartik & Anu invite you to their home to experience their Himalayan life @sargawoods. We love good music and hosting friends and family at our informal and very thoughtfully put-together home. In Jan & Feb, only seasoned travelers with a 4x4 vehicle and some snow-driving experience should come due to the snow.
