Description
Refill your proverbial cup at Wolf Camp. Enjoy direct access out the back door to the Superior Hiking Trail and the North Shore State Snowmobile Trail. Whether you’re looking for a quiet weekend getaway or a base camp from which to explore, the Wolf Camp provides. You will love inhaling the fresh air, sipping coffee as you plan your adventures, hearing the crunch of the forest floor beneath your feet, making dinner together, and reminding yourself of how good life is in these moments. The space Wolf Camp is a well-cared for manufactured home, built in 1995. It sits on 12 acres of wooded forest, about 1/2 way up Lookout Mountain. The cabin is modest, clean and very comfortable. We truly love it here. We are consistently updating the space, and sometimes our photos can't keep up with the improvements. The cabin is equipped with everything you might have at home: comfy memory foam mattresses, soft and firm pillows (4 pillows per bed), synthetic down comforters, space heaters for each room, a coffee grinder, coffee, English breakfast and herbal tea, an electric kettle, and a fully equipped kitchen. Everything is paved except the last 1/4 mile up our road. The driveway can easily accommodate three trucks with trailers. It's very dark at night, so if you arrive after sunset, just look for the mailbox with the house # on it. There is a motion front porch light that makes getting in no problem. Finland has two restaurants, two gas stations, a farmer's market on Thursdays during the summer months, an adorable post office, and the state's oldest co-op general store. A few things to note about the area: There are 6 state parks within 20 miles. Trout fishing galore. A snowmobiler's paradise. A hiker's paradise. An abundance of ATV trails, (I'd say paradise, but I already said it twice.) The incredible Crystal Bay Beach and overlook on Lake Superior is 6 miles away. Lutsen Ski Resort is 35 minutes away...I could really go on and on here. Guest access Stay on our property (please do not trespass). We have wonderful people who own private land on two sides and we respect their privacy, as they do ours. Please review the notes about the do's and don'ts in the guide book. Other things to note The Nitty Gritty Oddities -SEPTIC SYSTEM! All this means is only put the obvious in the toilet (toilet paper). Wet wipes, sanitary products, paper towels, diapers, Legos, rubber gloves, plastics bags, etc. should be disposed of in the waste basket. Seriously though, it can really mess things up. A service fee will apply if a plumber is called for a clog during your stay or in the time before the next guest checks in. -You may smell propane when you start the oven. It dissipates after ~3 minutes. -We welcome dogs but ask that you leave your cat(s) at home. Maximum of 3 dogs, please. Please keep pets off of the furniture. -Please avoid use of benzoyl-peroxide products during your stay. These products bleach colored linens. Replacement fee for damage to comforters etc. will be charged. -The linoleum floor in the back portion of the house (near the pink bedroom) elevates when the heat turns on.
