Hideaway Huts - The Meadow

The Hideaway Huts are two Off Grid, authentic early settler style timber huts inspired by the iconic Craig’s Hut which was built for the Australian movie The Man from Snowy River. Situated in a secluded and private area of a 100 acre cattle and sheep farm in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, the huts are only a short distance from some of the finest cellar doors and restaurants in this world renowned wine region. The space The Hideaway Huts provide a unique getaway experience where you can escape, recharge and reconnect with nature less than 45 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Enjoy a glass of wine by the slow combustion fire, unwind in the outdoor bath, stargaze by the outdoor firepit and explore the beautiful scenery amongst the towering river red gums. Each hut features unique and unexpected luxuries including a pillow topped king sized bed, velvet upholstered window reading seat and large glass sliding doors out onto the wide private verandah and barbeque area. They also feature modern conveniences such as a fully equipped kitchen and large ensuite bathroom with walk in shower. The huts were built with sustainability in mind, predominately using recycled Hardwood timber and other materials. The huts are completely self-sufficient and are built to a 7 star energy efficiency rating. All energy comes from a standalone off-grid solar system and all water is harvested from the huts and the roof of the 100,000 litre rainwater tank. Other things to note BREAKFAST: We provide a complimentary continental breakfast including cereal, milk and Adelaide Hills fruit juice for the first morning of your stay. We also provide a complimentary welcome bottle of Adelaide Hills wine. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: 1. OFFGRID SOLAR POWER: Hideaway Huts are run totally from an off-grid solar and battery system. While we have considerable battery storage, there is not enough power to run air-conditioning and other appliances on a non-stop basis – particularly at night. We ask guests to use power conservatively and air-conditioners to be turned off after 11pm to ensure sufficient power for the next day. 2. STRICTLY NO VISITORS: To ensure that ALL guests have a peaceful and relaxing experience, we have a strict NO VISITOR policy. This means that no visitors of guests are allowed on the property (including wedding entourages). 3. NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS: The Huts are to accommodate a maximum of 2 people only for the period stated. Strictly no children, parties or mass gatherings are allowed. 4. FIREPITS: All outside fires are to be contained within the designated firepit areas. Firepits will be removed during bushfire season (Dec-April). Strictly no outside fires are permitted during the bushfire season. Firewood has been provided for your stay in good faith and we expect our guests to use only what is needed. No wood is to be collected from the property. 5. STRICTLY NO PETS: Animals and pets are strictly not permitted on the premises. As this is a working farm, accommodation will be immediately terminated if pets are brought onto the property. No refunds will be given if this occurs. 6. STRICTLY NO SMOKING: All accommodation and surrounding areas are strictly non-smoking. If we find evidence of smoking inside the Huts, guests will be charged $500 plus extra cleaning costs. This will be charged to the guest’s credit card. 7. THE FARM: This is a working farm and therefore from time to time there may be machinery noise and staff on the property. 8. BREACH: If any of the above conditions are breached, we may immediately terminate your tenancy.
