Campsite in Kalama
Description
Description Nestled across the creek, this site offers a serene forest atmosphere for deep relaxation. The sounds of wind and flowing water create a soothing ambiance, fostering tranquility for the body, mind, and spirit. It is an ideal spot to unwind after visiting Mount St. Helens, escape urban stress, and connect with nature. Guests also enjoy direct access to the Kalama River for fishing. The space Kalama Meditation Center is a diverse Buddhist Dhamma Refuge, providing a unified space for spiritual guidance, healing, and deep reflection across multiple traditions: Theravada (The Way of the Elders): Rooted in the original teachings of the Buddha, emphasizing simplicity, the nature-based Path of Water, and the quiet lifestyle of our on-site resident monk. The gardens feature the sacred Mother Earth Mae Thorani, as well as the golden statue of Phra Sivali, who brings prosperity, abundance, and blessings of luck to all practitioners. Mahayana: Expressed through healing spaces like the white marble Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva by the creek, the Happy Buddha statue to welcome joy, contentment, and abundant happiness, and a beautiful, large black bell. Known as the sound of Awakening, the bell's strike vibrates toward a Super 7 gemstone sphere to cleanse all the negative energy from the one who rings it. Tibetan Style: Centered around our dedicated Tibetan Terrace, beautifully located in the woods. Surrounded by stillness and quietness, a peaceful gazebo invites visitors to come in, sit, relax, and meditate, all while hearing the natural sound of the water flowing from the nearby creek—with the Medicine Buddha present to deeply guide practitioners while they meditate. Whether you follow a specific lineage or simply seek peace, the Kalama Meditation Center harmoniously brings these paths together as a sacred Dhamma Refuge to provide profound spiritual guidance.
