Pāhautea is a Maori word which means 'to flourish luxuriantly'. We have named this house Pāhautea as it is the perfect spot to relax, unwind and recharge. The space Pāhautea has all the amenities you need. The top bedroom is spacious and quiet and is on the entrance level to the open plan kitchen, dining, living and main balcony. The two downstairs bedrooms open on to the lower balcony and look out to the private garden, sea and dunes so you can enjoy the view and fresh sea air from the comfort of your bed. There is also an additional pullout sofa in the downstairs bedroom. Pāhautea is perfect for a couples getaway, or bring the family, accommodating up to 6 people. Wake up and check the harbour entrance from the deck for fishing or explore one of the many local walking tracks with rock pools, waterfalls, or the majestic Tane Mahuta Kauri tree. If laying flat is your thing, find your spot on one of the local beaches or chill on the deck with your favourite drink and book. To end your day you can watch stunning sunsets from the lounge or balcony. The upstairs balcony has retractable sunshade and windbreaker blinds which makes your outdoor experience just that bit more perfect. Free wi-fi is available. Other things to note Our driveway is steep and narrow. If you’re experienced and skilled, you can back a boat down the drive or an easier option is to take advantage of the fishing charters on offer and go with a local. There is a separate carport for one car and ample street parking in front of the property. Also note: the bathrooms only have showers - no baths and unfortunately the house is not wheelchair friendly due to stairs and narrow turns into bathrooms.
