The space Our backpacker room is designed in the local fishing hut style and constructed out of coconut thatch and palmyra wood. Natural, sustainable and cool. The backpacker room includes a double bed, fan and mosquito net. Shared bathroom. All bookings include daily breakfast, daily boat transport to the sand bar, exclusive use of beach huts at sand bar and Vella Island. Please note that the boat transfer goes once in the morning and returns back at sunset. Additional boat transfers throughout the day incurs a small charge to cover petrol costs. All structures on site have been made by my family out of natural materials! Check out our garden of tranquility full of tropical trees, plants and art installations made out of natural and found objects. We serve delicious seafood, tropical juices and vegetable dishes at our on-site resteraunt. Our mother's cooking is legendary- check out our reviews!. We have a raised chillout hut amongst the palm trees with glimpses of the lagoon- perfect for yoga, board games and chill out banter in the evenings. Guest access Guests have access to resteraunt/ chill out area and exclusive use of beach huts in kite surfing areas. Other things to note Kalpitiya is unlike anywhere else in Sri Lanka. It is underdeveloped and does not have a nightlife, bars, bustling shops etc. However this is part of its charm. It is a place to get away from it all :) Daily boat transfer included in the price comprises a morning boat transfer and return back at sunset. Any additional boat transfers required throughout the day accrue a small charge to cover petrol costs.
