The space Lake View Retreat is a stylish, pet friendly apartment just a 7 minute walk from the heart of Bowness and the shores of Lake Windermere. You'll find the apartment tucked away in a peaceful cul-de-sac, elevated above town with lovely views across the rooftop and Lake Windermere. It's calm, comfortable, and feels like a real home-from-home. We're dog-friendly too, so feel free to bring your four-legged companion along for the adventure. We have dog treats waiting for them. Little ones are covered with a highchair, travel cot and stairgate. Being on the first floor you’ll reach the apartment via a set of stairs and enjoy the calm that comes with a tucked away corner. Just a heads-up – the road up to the apartment is quite steep, so it might not suit everyone. Come and enjoy the Lakes your way – slow mornings, scenic walks, and great food just around the corner. There are a flight of stairs to the first floor. Please note there is no lift. We have a driveway allowing parking for one car as well as free road parking outside the apartment. There is a garden with a patio area equipped with garden furniture and a BBQ. Other things to note Windermere centre is easily accessible via the A555 bus from the centre of Bowness or a 3 minute drive by car. The nearest train station is in Windermere 1.5 miles away. The Lake District is renowned for its many walks and trails for all abilities. We have walking guides in the Retreat and a special guide book for dog walks and dog friendly cafes along the way. If you are interested in the Orrest Head trail and don’t have a car, you can walk 10 min walk into Bowness town, get the A555 bus and that will take you straight into Windermere. Brant Fell trail is right on your doorstep, just a 5 minute walk away. Windermere Golf Course is only 2.3 miles away for golf enthusiasts. The Lake District has many wonderful villages full of character including Ambleside, Grasmere, Keswick, Newby Bridge, Kendal where you will find a plethora of shops, cafes, restaurants and cultural activities as well as numerous walks and activities to please all ages.
