The room features two interior doors—one that originally led to the servant’s quarters on the second floor and another that opens to a hall. For your convenience, the wardrobe contains extra blankets, drawers for delicate clothing, and hangers. Next to it, you’ll find a second suitcase stand. On the counter near the microwave, built-in bookshelves hold interesting reading materials about Alton, games, and a mini-fridge. You are welcome to help yourself to our snacks. The sink area is equipped with a Cuisinart single-serve coffee maker, along with coffee, creamer, and sugar. Below the sink, you’ll find cleaning supplies, trash bags, and a trash can for your use. There are also personal health products in the bathroom in case you forget something. The shower comes with shower soap, shampoo, and conditioner. One other thing: there is a grab bar 18" from the shower floor, placed there at special request by our lady guests for shaving legs. Guest access Guests have access to all areas, drawers, shelves, and cabinets of our guest suite. Also, the porch and the courtyard deck, chairs, and table are available for our guests at any time. Smoking or vaping on the porch and in the courtyard is allowed. During your stay Barb and Gary believe your privacy is essential to you, but we are happy and available to field questions about your guest suite or our town. Please use the Airbnb app for all general text communications. For emergencies, our phone numbers are listed in the 3-ring Guest Suite Manual binder next to the microwave. Other things to note Our home is a red brick two story on the corner of Bluff St. and State St. in Alton. Please park your car directly in front of our house on State Street or on the side of our house on Bluff St. Check-in: 3:00 PM Parking: You can park out front on State Street; please park right in front of our sidewalk stairs-that’s super helpful-or park on Bluff Street (along the side of our house) thanks! Getting to your suite: Follow the sidewalk to the main house porch, then take the brick/gravel path to the left through the courtyard. Your suite is at the side porch door. To get in: Touch the house icon or the lower-left corner of the touchpad to illuminate the keypad. Enter your code. You will hear two mechanical movements followed by a ding, and a checkmark will appear on the house icon. Then turn the doorknob and enter. If you're arriving after dark, the landscape lights and motion lights will guide your way. Shoot us a quick text once you're in so we know you made it okay! Quiet hours: 11:00 PM – 6:00 AM Whenever you are not in your guest suite please remember to lock the entry door. To lock the door, Simply press the lock icon on the lower right side of the touchpad.
