Located on 5 acres of wild land in the heart of the Northern Catskills, your private, 100% off-grid site is equipped with a luxury safari tent & fully functional modern bathhouse for your comfort. NO CAMP GEAR REQUIRED. The site is completely self-sustaining: rain water is collected for use in the hot water shower, sink, & composting toilet; solar energy powers the site. Quick 10-15 min drive from towns of Windham, Hunter, & Tannersville; countless nearby outdoor/indoor activities abound! You will quickly forget that you are under a canvas roof when staying at Greene Rock--our amenities are surely the comfiest of any glampsite this close to NYC! Our safari tent has a comfortable Queen-sized bed with a Brooklinen ultra-warm down alternative comforter, cotton percale sheets, and extra pillows. We offer local coffee beans, a hand grinder, and pour-over coffee maker for your morning coffee. There is a wood-burning stove inside the tent for warmth at night and for heating hot water to make coffee. Please bring your own firewood and firestarters. There are numerous places in town that sell both. There is an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The site has a modern & private full bathhouse for your comfort and convenience. Toilet is a composting toilet and the simple instructions are posted for your review before using. Bathhouse has a stylish, full-sized tile shower that uses rain water collection for bathing (and bathing only!). There is no plumbing--*do not drink the water.* Please bring drinking water. We have a cooler table on the deck for ice and beverages if you'd like. Keep food consumption at the site to a minimum, as there are wild animals nearby. Food must be stored in your car and properly disposed of in the bear proof trash can provided. We like to keep the tent clean and cozy--please remove shoes upon entering the tent. We love dogs at Greene Rock! Pets are welcome, but please do not allow them in the bed. We do not have WiFi. We encourage you to unplug and unwind and enjoy your off-grid experience! However, we do know that many carriers have full LTE service at the tent. A welcome packet will be inside the tent upon arrival. Please read all details carefully, as there are things to become familiar with when using solar electricity, a rain water collection water source, and the composting toilet. Our local recommendations on hikes, dining, and activities are included if you're looking for tips around town--and we're happy to provide additional suggestions, just reach out! Check us out on the IG! @greenerockglamping You may pull up to the shipping container for closer access to the tent. Follow the stone path to get to the site. You have access to the entire 5 acre property. Please enjoy the open spaces. Please be respectful of the neighbors at all times. Quiet time starts at 9pm and anyone that is not listed on the reservation can no longer be at the property after that time. We are always available for communication with our guests, but any on-site help may be over an hour away. Located approximately 2.5 hours from NYC, the property is located on a very quiet rural road in the heart of the Great Northern Catskills Mountaintop area. There are neighbors, so please be quiet after hours, but also remember to enjoy yourselves. The site is set up for two adult guests only, but we are pet friendly and do allow children, but discourage bringing them due to the wood burning stove inside the tent. We provide a list of our favorite local shops, watering holes, hiking trails, and restaurants to make your trip more enjoyable. We highly encourage visiting our local establishments--there are a lot of hidden gems up here! Bring plenty of water to drink! The collected rain water which we use to operate the bathhouse is NOT potable. Please read the instructions for the toilet before you use it - there is a learning curve.
