Outside, the back deck overlooks Stony Clove Creek—a perfect perch for morning coffee or après-ski sunsets. From there, follow a short path into the state forest for quiet, off-trail wandering right from the backyard (no crowded trailheads). Keep an eye out for remnants of the old Lanesville railroad and, for longer rambles, a historic plane-crash site hidden in the woods.
