Beautiful Montara Beach Home
Description
Affectionately known as the Mermaid Shack, this is our lovely personal home. Just blocks from spectacular Montara beach, enjoy the view of ocean and hills from the bright window-filled kitchen, living area with workspace and wrap-around deck. The tranquil bedroom with queen bed has sliding doors opening onto a peaceful fenced yard. The bathroom features a skylight, shower, and tub. The home is filled with plants and unique art. One bedroom of this house is a separate listing (see Guest Access). The space This is our personal home, listed as an Airbnb only when we are traveling. As such, it contains many plants, art from around the world, and our own kitchen dishes and tools. Because this is not a dedicated vacation rental, the space has a feeling of home. The living area is defined by the many windows and the workspace includes a standup desk that you can turn towards the coast for an ocean view. The bedroom is tranquil with sliding doors looking out onto a beautiful tree in a green and peaceful back yard. Montara is a beautiful and quiet community, and the house is within easy walking distance to the beach, trails, and a café and restaurant. Guest access One room of this home is a dedicated AirBnb (“Separate Garden Room” - please click “Other Reviews” below for reviews and listing link) that does not include access to the main part of the house (this listing). The backyard is shared with guests staying in that space, and some sound does travel through the walls. The hot tub and fire table are not for guest use (either listing). Other things to note We live here but travel often and list the space as available to allow for maximum booking flexibility. If you are interested in renting both listings together, please reach out. A hypoallergenic dog lives in this home when it is not being rented. Pets are considered on a case-by-case basis. Noise: While mostly quiet, the house walls do transmit noise. You will sometimes hear normal noise of household life (talking, music, occasional dog barking, etc.). Sometimes the adjacent unit is also rented. Please be conscientious of noise during quiet hours of 10 pm to 8 am. The nightly price includes the required San Mateo County 10% Transient Occupancy Tax. County performance standards as per Short Term Rental Regulations are posted in the room as follows: i) Number of tenants allowed: The maximum number of short-term tenants allowed in this individual short-term rental shall not exceed two (2) persons, plus two (2) additional persons (i.e., up to four short-term tenants are permitted) ii) Trash; Use onsite covered Recology trash bins iii) Prohibition on illegal activity; The short-term rental shall not be used to host or conduct any illegal activity. iv) Noise.
