Nestled in the foothills of the breath taking National Park, Mt. Rainier, you'll be less than 200 yards from the powerful and beautiful Cowlitz river, which is a prime area for wild life and the best views Packwood has to offer. Our cabin has all the amenities a full size home will have, but efficiently and intentionally dispersed throughout the 200 sq. ft floor plan. This home comes fully equipped with a bathroom, kitchen, work space and living area. While admittedly close quarters, no comfort of said spaces were spared. Thoughtfully, the layout was set, and ready to give not only the most cozy experience, but one with all of the comforts and amenities a person could want. Packwood is truly a dream for any person who loves the outdoors, and Smokeys Container Cabin compliments this special town harmoniously. Both rustic, quiet and quaint, but not sacrificing character, culture or intent; the two scream charm and adventure, free from the hustle and bustle of other commercially driven mountain towns and stays. Packwood and Smokeys are truly a match made in heaven. Sitting in a quiet cul-de-sac, across the road is the river, you're just 25 minutes from the humble champions of the PNW, Mt. Rainier and White Pass, and all of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Hiking happens just yards from our front door, and wild life such as Elk and Deer commonly cross paths of our guests. Leaving with new friends in the nature realm is pretty common after a stay at Smokeys. The 20' by 10' Container Cabin is exactly 200 sqft, and sleeps 2 comfortably, and even leaves a little room for a pooch or a small child. The couch also acts as the sleeping quarters, converting to just shy of a queen size bed. We have prepared it as a bed for your arrival, with a 3-inch memory foam mattress topper; 2 layer design combined with gel memory foam and bamboo carbon foam. There is a swiveled tv strategically placed over a coffee bar, ready to stream your favorite dvd, or show that streams via smart tv. We've also supplied a retro classic game console that resembles the original Nintendo, housing over 600 original games all built into the console, truly a nostalgic experience. The dining area doubles as a work space, separating the kitchen and living area. In the kitchen, you'll find a rustic but commanding antique electric range, housing an oven, 4 burner stove, refrigerator and sink. Above the range hangs all the utensils you could ever need to make a 4 course meal. Smokey cares about you and offers you non-toxic and non-stick cookware from the brand "Our Place."There is not a toaster or microwave in the cabin. Across the kitchen is a walled off toilet area and a full-size shower. We also have supplied a boot warmer/dryer (available in the winter season) and a place to hang jackets or other accessories. Between the work table and range is a small Mr. Buddy propane heater, only to be used in the case of a power outage in the winter months. Don't be fooled by the log in the corner, as it is the home to a few of our favorite games that we encourage you to play! The cabin is heated with an electric fire place, which keeps the cabin plenty toasty on the coldest of winter nights, we also supply a plug-in electric heater incase you want a lower heat selection. There is also an 8000 btu window mounted air conditioning unit used in the warmer months, which keeps the cabin plenty cool! The water heater is electric and set to the perfect temp for a warm shower or hand rinse in the sink. The cabin holds temperature and moisture away extremely well due to the closed cell spray insulation and layers of r13 insulation which backs the blue pine walls and ceiling of the entire cabin. We also supply free and secure high speed wifi. After a long day enjoying the outdoors, you can come back to a smokeless fire in the Solo Stove, acquainting the side of the Container Cabin, perfect to warm a cold set of hands, or to melt a few s'mores. There is also a small bar table and stools to enjoy a meal outside, or to use while manning the 6 burner propane barbecue. Fire wood can be obtained at any of the local gas stations or grocery stores, we just ask to burn responsibly so we don't upset Smokey! The entire cabin and graveled outdoor areas are available for guests enjoyment, please respect quite hours which is 10pm-8am. We will always be available by phone, and commonly available in person for any requests or situations that may need our attention. We want nothing more than our guest to love the stay, please read and respect the rules and policies. By booking, you are acknowledging that you have read through the entire listing and agree to rules and policies. There are Blink security cameras on the exterior property, but not on any critical areas, and will not be activated during stay, used only for security on vacant dates or emergency situations. 1 dog is allowed at a 30$ fee, but may not be left alone in the cabin, and must be leashed at all times when outside of the cabin. Sorry, but 30 pound limit for pets. Please clean up after your pooch. The cabin is a separate suite on the same property as our home. The entrance to the cabin is on a shared driveway with our residence. The cabin also has its own fenced In private area to settle in which includes the hot tub, fire pit, BBQ, and out door games. We entirely respect the privacy of our guest, but are also always more than welcome to say hello! Please feel free to send a message to ask any specific questions not covered, or specific request.
