AlThé – Family home in Epoisses (Burgundy)

Welcome to the Auxois region! Epoisses, a village in the Côte d'Or recently awarded the "cité de caractère" label, at the crossroads of Upper Burgundy, the Morvan and the Tonnerrois regions, will seduce you. Discover the production site of our prestigious flagship cheese, Epoisses, by way of the castle, whose history dates back to the 6th century and about which Madame de Sévigné wrote. We welcome you in our family house, located at about ten minutes walk from the castle... The space Our Burgundian family home is a renovated former barn with 4 bedrooms including a dormitory with 6 single beds (bunk beds) and 3 bedrooms with double beds. A bathroom with bath and shower on the first floor, and a shower room on the ground floor. Bed linen and/or towels are available on request for a fee. A kitchen/dining room to enjoy a meal with the whole family. A large garden, sun loungers in fine weather or a fireplace to curl up by the fire. Toys for the children and board games are available. We also lend our bikes, so please ask for information, there are bikes for all ages! Guest access 20 minutes from the motorway exit. You can walk to the local shops (bakery, restaurant, tobacconist 10 minutes away), cycle (electric or mechanical bikes available) or drive to the supermarket (less than 5 minutes away). Other things to note The surrounding paths are ideal for strolling and will lead you to the beautiful houses of the 16th and 17th centuries. Nearby are the picturesque villages of Semur-en-Auxois, Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, Noyers-sur-Serein and of course the Eternal Hill, Vezelay, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for 40 years. You can also swim at the municipal swimming pool in Epoisses or at the Lac de Pont. MuseoParc Alésia and the Auxois animal park will delight young and old alike.
