The Baobab Cottage

Stay in a cosy cottage of a Victorian heritage home. This private cottage has comfortable furnishings and a quaint and welcoming atmosphere. It is open plan and includes a double bed, lounge with a comfy sleeper couch, a complete kitchen, a separate bathroom and an outdoor patio, braai and dining area. The property has a garden with a pool and is close to shops, the University, prominent PMB schools, Wingrove Wedding Venue, a private park and Bisley Nature Reserve for recreation. Guest access Guests have access to nearby shops, a private park with fields, a tennis court, a wetland and plenty of bird life, access to the adjacent university sports ground with all related facilities, and access to something really special; a game reserve with Zebra, Giraffe and Wildebeest within 3 km from the house. The host was involved in setting up these trails and the maintenance of the reserve, and will happily tell you about them. For those sports enthusiasts who canoe, run the comrades, Edendale or Mandela marathons, trail run, mountain bike or swim the Midmar mile, the start of these events are all within easy reach. So too are Maritzburg College, Maritzburg Girls High, Merchiston, Epworth and St John's schools. The city itself also represents a uniquely South African mix of influences, and both the Drakensburg Mountains and the Sea are about an Hours drive. Other things to note Please note there is a large dog on the premises. Our dog is very friendly but can be energetic and seem a handful if you aren't confident/comfortable with dogs. And finally, the cottage is best for three adults. It can take 4 adults at a push for a night, but it is ideally suited for a family of 4, and there is space for a camp cot for an infant.
