….. The Bear Necessities cabin is part of the Great 88 cabin getaways. Nestled on 88 acres of natural woodlands , trails and creeks. Getaway from it all when you stay under the stars in this off grid cabin located on a sunset hill at the edge of the woods, It’s the perfect place to escape, unplug & unwind. This insulated cabin is cosy and romantic with a real wood stove capable of taking the chill off on a fall evening or keeping you toasty on a cold winters night. The space This cabin is a 15 min hike in only from the parking area .The one room cabin is equipped with all the necessities required to escape . The two queen size custom built bunks beds both have there own viewing window that makes you feel like your sleeping outdoors and allows you to watch wildlife and the sunrise from the comfort of your bed. A large real wood stove with glass window allows you to watch the flicker of the fire while keeping you cosy warm. Buffet and hutch , table with 4 chairs , covers timber framed front porch Guest access The Bear Necessities Cabin is Hike in only , it is approximately 15 min hike from the parking area , trails could be wet , muddy , snow coved , depending on the weather and how much rain and snow we get prior to your arrival or during your stay . You have the use of the fire pit , out house and outdoor shower (seasonal ) and the trails from the parking area to cabin and trails around the creek and property. Other things to note New Outdoor Hot Shower ( seasonal ) On demand propane fired camp shower in located of the back of the outhouse change room / sink TO OPERATE The SHOWER 1. fill the 5 gal pail with water from the outdoor rain water storage tote. 2. Remove the cover to the heater ( Black plastic tote. Hanging on nails . 3.go around to the back of the shower and turn on the propane tank by opening the value , and then turn the electrical switch to ON located on the side of the battery/ pump box . 4.Inside the outdoor shower there is a on and off switch on the shower head / handle when turning on the shower head the pump will suck the water from The pail push it thru the heater and hot water will come out the shower head ( with a small delay ) 5.When finished showering turn off the propane Tank and turn the electric switch to off.. the replace the cover over the hot water camp heater.
