Description
Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable, newly architect designed and refurbished 1840s Paper Mill Boiler House, set within the rolling hillsides of the Calder Valley. A grand design on a smaller scale with an excellent use of space. With breath-taking views from the fully glazed frontage overlooking the woodland and river. The property is located on the longest continuous elevation road in England and is famous for road cycling, having been part of the Tour de France route back in 2014. The space The space has been stylishly decorated and provides comfort, warmth and space for friends and family trips. Get cosy on the sofa and switch on the huge 65" TV with all subscriptions to Netflix, BBC iplayer and Amazon Prime. Enjoy a hot drink in front of the fire which gives a homely feel during the evening time. Our property is fitted with underfloor heating on the first top floor so no chilly feet! Radiators are fitted in the bedrooms. Our favourite part of the property has to be the fabulous floor to ceiling windows bringing the outside in. Sit back and take in the stunning woodland and wildlife surrounding the property come rain or shine. Finished to a very high standard, the property boasts a hand crafted kitchen, with complimenting marble worktops, that leads onto our stunning open plan living and dining area. The property has 2 main bedrooms and will most comfortably seat and sleep 4 guests, however if additional sleeping space is needed the sofa bed located in the lower section of house will sleep 2 extra guests. The sofa bed has a proper mattress so guests don’t need to worry about comfort! There is also a Tv and board games in this room. The main stairs are narrow and the lower floor is accessed via paddle steps, so those with limited mobility, or young children and dogs may struggle. We have a top of the range beautiful marble bathroom, with a hand made Japanese duo deep soak bath - the water keeps hotter for longer than a normal bath so you can indulge and relax until your heart's content! Those with mobility issues may struggle getting in and out of the deep bath/shower so please bear this in mind too. Described by one of our guests as a grand design on a smaller scale, our home isn’t huge, but we have managed to come up with a design that allows for comfort. We even managed to squeeze in an upstairs toilet! There are 2 outdoor patio areas, one leading off the main lounge, and one leading off one of the bedrooms, so get the coffee on, and enjoy your morning, whilst immersing yourself in the local history and woodland. You may not recognise our property from the entrance as you will just see a single storey building. It’s only when you enter through the large oak door that you will be wow-ed by what lies within. Guest access You will be renting the entire building for your stay. There is 1 parking space to the left of the property. It is situated at the top of Castlegate road so we ask that you park close to the fence, tucked in. There is plenty of roadside parking for additional cars just across from the property. Other things to note My house guide provides information about what you can do in the area. Please contact me at anytime should you have any questions ☺️
