If you enjoy a beautiful view, a peaceful and secluded rural setting and being surrounded by animals (wild and domestic) then this is the place for you! Black Rock Stables was built as an equestrian facility; however, the focus is now on providing small scale dog/cat boarding and the breeding of healthy and happy Scottish terriers. Even so, a few elderly equines can often be seen mowing the grass, and we now have a small petting zoo for your children to enjoy. Other things to note If you are interested in fossils then the Black Rock coastline will fascinate you. It is not easy to find access to the shore, so feel free to ask me for directions to the fossil beach. Directly across from the Black Rock Stables driveway is a trail to a beautiful derelict bridge over the Mill Pond. It’s a great spot for trout fishing or spotting beavers and herons.
