The Farmhouse on Main
Use the Farmhouse on Main as your home base for discovering all that SE Pennsylvania has to offer. Biking, hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, craft breweries, distilleries, wineries, historical sites like Valley Forge, Amish country tours, Lancaster Sight and Sound and farm stands and markets are just a few of the fun things to do nearby. After a day of exploring, enjoy the cozy atmosphere of a fieldstone farmhouse with the convenience of being close to major roadways in a walkable village. The space The original part of the house was built in the 1870's by a cabinet maker. A modern addition added in 1997 by a previous owner. The house is part of the Elverson Historic District registered on the National Register of Historic Places. The current owners have lovingly cared for this historic building preserving its character and charm.When you enter the home you will be greeted by a lovely sitting room with club chairs and game table next to the original fireplace (non-working). This is a great place to relax, enjoy a game of chess, checkers, or backgammon or read a book. Next to the sitting room is the dining room inviting you to gather for a meal or for business travelers to meet and strategize. Next to the dining room is the laundry room with new LG Tower Washer and Dryer and powder room. Enter the modern kitchen equipped with gas stove, microwave, cooking pots and pans, toaster oven, utensils, Keurig coffee machine and wine and cocktail glasses. The kitchen is open to the family room with its comfy cozy sectional. Here plenty of pillows and throws invite you to curl up, relax and enjoy a movie on the wall mounted TV or play a game or put together a puzzle. Upstairs are three bedrooms - a master with en suite bathroom and queen bed, another bedroom with full size bed and TV, and a third bedroom in the historic part of the home with queen size bed. The second and third bedroom share the garden themed hall bath. There is also a dedicated workspace for business travelers. The owner is a recovering network engineer and once used this building as her office/training center so you can rely on high speed access for your work needs. A small non-fenced yard with a huge maple tree is at the rear of the home. The owners live on the property in a separate building just across the yard. Off-street parking is available in our parking lot next to the home. The home is heated with hot water baseboard heat and cooled by central air in the summer. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire home excluding the basement, attic and attached one car garage. Storage for kayaks and bicycles can be made available in the garage upon request.
