Casa Dorino is perfect for nature lovers and families who enjoy hiking. From Mascengo, you can set off on scenic trails, including several routes that lead through the stunning Tremorgio Lake region. Guests will also enjoy exclusive access to a private sauna—ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. The space Welcome to Casa Dorino – Your Private Mountain Retreat Casa Dorino isn’t just a holiday home—it’s part of our family’s story. Originally the home of our great-grandparents Isidoro and Ottilia, this house has been in our family for generations. Our grandfather Frank returned to Prato Leventina in 1907, and together with our grandmother Mariette, they raised seven children here—including our father Ugo. In 2019, we—Rosa, Francesco, Massimo, and Michela—renovated Casa Dorino with love. Now, we’re happy to share it with guests who want to experience the peace, nature, and beauty of this special place. What You’ll Enjoy - The entire house is yours—no shared spaces, just privacy and comfort. - A large garden surrounds the house, perfect for relaxing or letting the kids run and play. There’s even a trampoline for extra fun! - After a day of exploring the mountains, unwind in your private sauna (up to 2 hours/day for an extra 40 CHF / EUR, paid at check-out). - The terrace offers amazing views of the San Giorgio Church and the nearby peaks—Pizzo Sole and Pizzo Molare. - Free private parking is available right in front of the house. - Families and nature lovers will love the nearby hiking trails, including routes to the scenic Tremorgio Lake. - Please note: the original central staircase is quite steep, so take care when using it. Guest access As our guest at Casa Dorino, you'll have exclusive access to the entire house—no shared spaces. You'll also enjoy full use of the large private garden, perfect for relaxing, playing with children, or enjoying the fresh mountain air. The trampoline is all yours too—great fun for kids! The private sauna is available for your use (up to 2 hours per day, for an additional 40 CHF / EUR, payable at check-out). You'll also have free parking right in front of the house. Other things to note Coffee and tea: Casa Dorino offers free coffee, tea, olive oil, salt and pepper. You will find them in the kitchen. Rules: - no pets allowed. - no smoking inside the home. - check-out is before 11 AM. - A CHF 100 charge will be added for lost or stolen keys. - if you used the sauna, please leave the cash amount accordingly at the check-out. - you will find fondue and raclette set in the kitchen, if you will try typical swiss food. Supermarkets are located in Faido and Airolo. It’s about 15 min. to drive. You will find Coop, Migros, Denner, Pharmacies, doctors. Sauna Use at Casa Dorino Relax and recharge in your very own private sauna, located on floor -1 of the house. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a day of hiking or exploring! The sauna can be used for up to 2 hours per day and is reserved exclusively for our guests. There's a small extra fee of 40 CHF / 40 EUR per day, which you can simply pay at check-out.
