Description

Enjoy the best view of the Arts District perched high above the streets below with 180 degree views from the bay windows. Sleep in tranquility in the soft king size bed in the master bedroom. Cook a classic continental breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon or waffles (provided) or grab one of the best breakfasts around at Mason Jar or coffee at Forte Coffee! Walk to The Livery, Houndstooth Restaurant, Larks BBQ, Pipestone Indoor Golf or Harbor Shores Golf Course too! Industrial, elegant, romantic. The space Winner of the Morton House Museum's Historical Preservation Award after it's restoration, the 1905 Stewart Building is a real treasure of Benton Harbor. Originally the home to stores such as The Central Music House, Harbor Furniture House, and an Army and Navy store, it eventually became the first in a list of taverns in 1946 until the massive restoration project in 1999 and becoming Paulie's Bar And Grille and then The Library Pub and Eatery. Now new entrepreneurs are hard at work getting a new restaurant ready to open in this historic space. Assorted snack foods are included and stocked in the kitchen, refrigerator and freezer for your pleasure as well as coffees, teas, sweeteners and creamers. It has always had apartments above it's businesses but now you have a chance to go back in time and experience life as a Benton Harbor resident yourself but with all the modern amenities today has to offer. High speed Comcast Business Class WIFI, laundry facilities on both floors, (shared and in both hallways), intercom and door buzzer, dishwasher, individual central AC/heat and of course plush full bathrooms make going back in time much more pleasurable. Architectural details really make the spaces magical with hand worked Victorian era tin and paints from one of the few remaining old world metalsmith shops and Cherry trim and Oak floors balance beautifully with the exposed brick walls. Repurposed WWII era Naval windows that open so wide it's like being outside offer fantastic views of the parks and boutique stores in the Arts District. Guest access Plenty of free street parking in front of and across from the Stewart Building. Adjacent to the building is a large open parking lot that is free to use as well. The Arts District with it's many shops and restaurants are walking distance away.
