Due to the Spanish design, ventilated Italian high roof and windows with louvres, air con is not possible but it is pleasant most year esp the 2 bedrooms & outdoors ocean spray beach is a short 3 min drive Swiggy delivers here The space Very important- please read it carefully Chateau dif pondy is a standalone property in a gated community known as the Dream beach layout. You will have the whole whole property to yourselves during your stay. Since we operate on a self check in, self serviced and self check out model the guests will have total privacy. There are no care takers for the property The gates are accessed with high quality number locks, the codes and the video which shows how the locks work will be shared with the guests on booking. It’s quite simple The guest are requested to keep the gate of the gated community closed whenever they enter or leave property. It’s safe but we want to play it safe. The beach access The scenic ocean spray beach is just a 3 minute drive from the property. The road will take you to the very edge of the beach. Walks in the lovely beach is strongly recommended. This beach is the same as that is used by the ocean spray resort. You will enjoy it The Air conditioning Because of the design of the house such as the self ventilating Italian roof tiles , multiple window with louvres and a high roof, it is not possible to air-condition the place, but it is rather pleasant especially in the evenings and nights, the two bedrooms and the outdoors are quite pleasant round most of the year. The windows and the additional tower fan mitigates the heat to a large extent in the summer months. But yes guests will have to consider this fact, it might be a good opportunity to enjoy the clean sea breeze for a couple of nights ! Wind swept dust This ventilation also allows some dust to be swept in to the house by the wind, we use dust covers on the bed to dust proof it. The guests will have to remove these dust covers and do some little dusting if required with the equipment provided in both the bedrooms ( minimal effort is what is required) Residential creatures Since we are in a foresty area we have resident lizards, which are unstoppable and the occasional tree frogs and squirrels that visit us. These creatures are harmless, just let them be. The food arrangements Swiggy will deliver food if the location is set as the ocean spray hotel located about 500 M from property. We will be able to call the Swiggy delivery person and offer him some money ( May I suggest Rs 50-100) to deliver at the property. Most boys accept the offer. Option 2 is to do some cooking, especially the breakfast. Get some eggs, butter and jam, a carton of milk, some instant coffee along with you and make use of the amenities in the kitchen. you can use the fridge to store up the items. Option 3 is to get food from the town if you are visiting Pondy town and store it up in the fridge and reheat it as and when required, you can also getting some frozen food like nuggets, patties etc A 20L can of fresh water will be waiting for you on your arrivals. We would have loved to have employed a caretaker who would have taken care of your needs better but we couldn't find one who would do the service sincerely so we decided that a self service model is better than a poor service model and further we are able to cut costs for our guest it also gives flexibility of check in and check out times to you, you need not wait endlessly for some one to give you the key, you can walk in like you own it, similarly for the ai r conditioning we have opted for a natural ventilation with the clean ocean breeze rather than an ineffective and un reliable air-condioning anything else ? Smoking YES can be done in the outdoors Drinking YES can be done Early Check in - Yes Late Check out - Yes Suggested itinerary Book Chateau dif pondy for 2 nights Day 1 - If arriving by bus, get down in the pondy town, hire mopeds, drive to Chateau dif pondy, check in , freshen up, drive to Auroville, spend the day, buy diner, get back to Chateau dif pondy , chill out If arriving by your own vehicle, go directly to Auroville and then same as above Day2 - Start your day with a morning walk the the ocean spray beach, target 6 am in the summer months, have fun cooking up a break fast with your friends, go to Pondy town, enjoy your time there, try a restaurant for dinner, get back to Chateau dif pondy Day 3 - Do the morning walk, have break fast, do the things you might have missed out the previous days and check out in your own sweet time Please feel free to ping for any queries you might have, we will get back to you ASAP.
